I purchased this to use with heat shrink but the first thing I noticed when opening the box was the deflector was missing. I went ahead and plugged it in and out started getting hot but the fan wasn’t blowing so all the heat was staying in the body so it quickly became too hot to touch and started smoking with a smell of burnt plastic. There is no thermal protection so plan on watching very closely to ensure it don’t catch on fire. Picture is after I unplugged, when to get the thermometer and phone so about 10mins of cooling before recording the grip temp.Read more

This this is awesome! It is designed for light jobs, not for peeling paint off an apartment complex or something. And man does it ever do what it’s designed for! I completed a project where I needed to solder then heat shrink tons of wires in an electric box. The SEEKONE targeted only the heat shrink on which I was working and nothing else. A larger gun would have heated the entire box every time I pointed it in there. The little heat diversion attachment is very tight, as it should be. Point being, don’t freak out if it doesn’t slip right on. You just have to wiggle and wedge it, carefully so as not to bend it, and work it on there. But once it’s on, it STAYS on. Oh remember to let it cool before trying to remove it! Unless you don’t mind your fingertips being branded. I love this heat gun!Read more

This heat gun is very light weight and easy to handle. When running it is rather quite, which I found very nice. It direct a good about of air without being like a blow dryer on high! The only real drawback, maybe, is that you have no means of controlling the temperature on unit so it’s full heat all the time. This mean you have to keep the heat gun moving in and out, side to side to prevent too much heat building up in one area. I’ve used this so far to heat up binding on a guitar I’m building and for drying paint and finishes. Works great!Read more

I just received the heat gun today, first time trying it and boy does the heating element get hot! Problem is, the fan doesn’t kick on. That makes this little piece of plastic try to melt down in less than a minute. It starts puking smoke out of the end within seconds of turning on. I reached out to the company to see about getting a replacement, hopefully they remedy the situation.Read more

Heatgun is good and solidly built, the reflector is junk. Their support though is so bad, I can’t give them any stars overall. The stand alone the heatgun itself works very nicely. I only use it for doing heatshrink tubing, but it does that job pretty well. It would do it better if the reflector nozzle worked but it doesn’t. The ‘Reflector Nozzle’ or the metal bit that is supposed to go on the front and blow the air around for tubes and the like just doesn’t barely goes on and doesn’t stay on at all. It wasn’t clear to me when I first received it if it was supposed to go inside the gun’s tip or outside of it. It’s size is pretty close to the tip’s size, so either way would require some force to get there. I contacted their support and for a pretty straight forward question, they gave me a very vague non-answer, saying that it might require some amount of force. I contacted them again for clarification, trying to be as explicit as possible. “Does it go around the tip or inside it?”. They never got back to me. First response was within 24 hours max, surprisingly fast. It’s been about a month and they still haven’t gotten back to me on the second. Hopefully the heatgun lasts and I don’t need anything else from them. Having not been able to get anything from support, I tried the reflector type both inside the normal tip and outside it. Despite it requiring some force to get it to fit either way, it just didn’t stay on. Not didn’t stay on when being used and the like, didn’t stay on as in just fell right off. The shape of the parts keeps it from going inside very far, if base of the reflector was shorter, it might fit well. It gets the job done I need, playing the odds of decent heatgun from another company wasn’t worth the time. If you want do anything that will really require the reflector (like tube bending) avoid this thing. If you just need something that puts out heat, it’s better than the three broken ones I bought before this one (all from different companies).Read more

I bought this specifically for heat shrinking and solder based heat shrinking butt connectors. It works great, but the only complaint is the plastic chin hinge will fall off easily, otherwise it works great.Read more

I bought this heat gun because of the convenient price and I needed it to heat shrink wires on my truck’s lights. Using the solder seal wire connectors, it worked great in making a neat and easy waterproof connection without using a soldering tool. It’s also relatively quiet, compared with other heat guns I’ve tried. I recommend this for small jobs as it is portable and is limited by a 5 foot power cord. I also used it to remove decals from my truck.Read more

I primarily got this to heat up butt connectors which it does a great job at doing. I don’t like using the heat shield, it just gets in my way. I know many others have had issues with this heat gun but my experience has been very positive. I’ve also used this to work on a cell phone to remove the screen and it did a great job especially being light weight.Read more
