Bought this during the black Friday sale and have used it a few times. It seems as if the compressor kicks on when there is a 5 degree difference between what is “set” on the controller. With that said, it cools down very quickly. It does not come with a basket, however I did some measurements and ended up finding a suitable solution. A 2 pack of the “Mohico wire storage basket” item B085NZ63G3 on amazon (bought for around $17 shipped) that measure 10.5″x8″x 5″ each and a thick cutting board from dollar tree ($1!) that I drilled/”swiss cheesed” for airflow along with shaving off ~1/8″ on one end and it fits snug and allows layering! While I’ve seen other more expensive fridges come with a single basket, having two baskets allows you to have 1 basket for your meats, 1 basket for your veggies/cheeses/etc, and then you have space on the shelf for drinks/etc and you could even layer another of the same sized basket or a longer basket if you wish. I did hardwire this to my vehicle for added peace of mind and to avoid the common flaw these fridges deal with with the cigarette plug adapter so hopefully I don’t have to worry about this issue. I’m just glad I don’t have to worry about iceRead more

I already had a 20 quart 12 volt fridge/freezer, but wanted something bigger. Between this 37 quart unit and the 20 quart I hoped to be able to hold a week’s worth of food when heading to my vacation property. It does meet the need, but it took a lot of trial and error to figure out what temperature to set it to. I would like the fridge around 34°. That doesn’t seem possible. I found if I set it to 24°, it will maintain an internal temperature between 32°-39°. Any higher and it drifts above 40°, any lower and it will get below freezing. Though, I needed to drop it down below 20° to get water to freeze. Setting to -4° does get it close to 0°. In comparison, my other fridge (by CIGREEN) maintains an internal temperature within 1° of the thermostat with no significant drift. So, this SetPower unit is a bit of a disappointment. One positive on this unit is that is seems to have sufficiently thick insulation. It doesn’t feel cold anywhere on the outside. My CIGREEN one sweats and creates a puddle on the floor. Haven’t decided if this is worth keeping or not. I may try another brand to see if I can find something with a more reliable thermostat.Read more

I live this unit. I keep in my vehicle at all times. I use it in town for grocery shopping. I also use it for longer trips. I tested and it went from 70 degrees to 30 degrees in about 30 minutes. I don’t regret the purchase and would recommend. I was told i should avoid an off brand but I bought anyway. I run it off 12 volt. No issues at all but I’ve only had two months.Read more

Dead on arrival. Would not power on. Removed compressor cover and found main power cable came loose. Tried to reattach but was very tight on cable. Rerouted power cable from behind compressor pipe and plenty if slack. Compressor mounted on rubber bushings and probably moved around during shipment pulling cable loose. But works like a champ now and after running for 45 minutes, went from 70 to 05 degrees. Amazed at how quite it is! Would definitely recommend!Read more

I had ordered the EA35 and realized that it would not arrive on time to install in my custom truck camper build which I plan to take a trip with. I contacted the seller to see if there was anyway I could receive it soon. Ted got back to me that same day and informed that the EA35 was out of stock, but he could upgrade me to the TC35 and I’d receive it in just a few days. I was pumped! No extra charge for a free upgrade and it arrived freakishly fast! Awesome customer service! I will be sure to write a review on how this beauty works once I use it for a bit, it she appears solid and spacious. Happy camper here so far. Thank you Ted!Read more

The value for money is unmatched when it comes to portable coolers. For permanent solutions for home use is another story. Under room temperature, when setting the cooler to -4 degrees f, it won’t ever reach that temperature and shut itself off to conserve energy. It will continue to run and suck 50-60watts of power from you power generator. I thought maybe that’s just too cold so I put it to 0 degrees f but no, it continued to run all night. What’s worse is that it makes a loud annoying sound like when you walk into an aquarium and you hear the water pumps. It’s portable and it’s 28lbs is great compared to other smaller more compact fridges with more complex components that might crap out on you. It’s a good size and fits what I need but I’m returning this because it’s compressor is not efficient or powerful enough to conserve energy and it makes too much noise.Read more

This thing came packaged the best of anything I have ever received. The cardboard probably weighed almost as much as the freezer. I hooked it up to a motorcycle battery that I keep as a backup for my CPaP. Within an hour it was below freezing. And it had just came off a UPS truck on a hot day. I plan to keep it adjusted at around freezing and figure out where I need to keep ice to keep the ice frozen while camping. We have several Mennonite surplus grocery stores in our area and have already used it to go out there and buy frozen food.Read more

The unit works good to keep food cold but no matter what temp you set it to it will not freeze. Even when set to -4 degrees. I saw 0 degrees on the gage but food was not frozen. It was very cold which I am happy with.Read more
