The lids seem well made and the pack of 3 gives you options based on what you are drinking and where you are taking the bottle. The flip top was very tight and difficult to open, which I’m sure helps prevent leaks but makes me worried I would end up spilling just trying to get the top open. Unfortunately, they do NOT fit my 40oz wide mouth Hydrapeak bottle. The advertisement doesn’t specify Hydrapeak, but someone in the customer questions replied that they did, so I ordered them. If you are looking for a lid for a Hydrapeak bottle, these are NOT the ones for you. I didn’t have another brand to try it on, so I can’t say if they do fit the ones they specify or not.Read more

UPDATE: Was able to get the smell out and use this lid, BUT it comes back easily, (such as if I leave green tea in it overnight before bringing it in to wash), and then is really hard to get rid of again, even after soaking it and scrubbing it. I think taking the silicone ring out helped clean it, but other lids I’ve had, have a fixed ring that doesn’t allow anything to get (or grow) underneath it. Basically, if I leave anything other than water in the cup for over 24 hours, it is really difficult to get it clean, even with taking the ring out and soaking all the parts in hot water, vinegar, bleach mix etc. It’s do-able but it takes a ridiculous amount of time and effort. I used this lid for one two days and thought I had found my new favorite lid. It didn’t leak at all, wouldn’t pop off the bottle even if I pulled on it (I tested it because lids have done that on me in the past), but just like another reviewer said….this lid molds so easily!!! I washed it both times I used it with scaulding hot water and good soap and I removed the rubber/silicone rings, but i smelled a moldy smell after washing. So I soaked it overnight in vinegar, rewashed, still smelled mold. Soaked it over night in bleach, rewashed, still smelled mold. Lastly soaked it in peroxide….for two days…..rewashed and guess what? Still smells moldy. Again I’m really disappointed because the design is my favourite of any lid I’ve tried.Read more

I wanted to love this. It was pink and went well with my purple hydroflask, it had a carry handle, and it was pink! So I noticed that it was difficult for me to open, but that’s not unusual; things are usually hard to open at first and I have limited hand strength. It was kind of difficult to get off too, but that is again a matter of my own limited hand strength, and means it won’t leak. However, what doesn’t work for me is that the lid doesn’t open all the way. Not a big deal if you have a cute button nose, but I have an unfortunate european sniffer, and as a result would end up with a tiny bit of coffee stuck to the tip of my nose while drinking. After a few days of contemplating nose reconstruction, I decided that it would be simpler to put a new gasket in my old lid. It’s not cute, it isn’t pink and it doesn’t have a carry handle, but I don’t have a brown spot on my nose now either.Read more

I haven’t had this lid very long and I wash it often. On multiple occasions mold has grown under the lid. GROSS! I thought it was poor maintenance on my part, but no matter what, mold ends up under the lid. Now it’s under the lid AND under caulk, which cannot be accessed. Aside from the nasty mold aspect, the lid isn’t 100% leak proof. I’d say it’s 80% leak proof and randomly leaks for no apparent reason. Update: 6-18-18 My husband was able to dig the caulk out so the mold could be accessed and removed (see pic). This is likely a temporary fix to an ongoing issue with this lid. The lid needs a better design with removable parts (there is one removable clear ring inside) to ensure thorough cleanliness.Read more

I love the look of the Simple Modern Wide Mouth Lids and that it has a handle. I love the color choices and that they fit on my Hydro Flasks as well. The only issue I have, and it’s kind of a big one, is that the flip top doesn’t close tightly and I have had many big spills when the flip top gets knocked open (which happens VERY easily) while in my bag or if it gets knocked over somehow. Doesn’t happen with any other flip lid that I have (50/50, Hydro Flask). But I do like the handle and the look so I have two. I just have to be very careful and am basically resigned to the fact that if I carry it around in my bag, I am likely to have a spill.Read more

This lid is so good that it’s annoying. See, I had an older Simple/Modern bottle and lid. I thought it was so much better than an off-brand lid that looked good because of a handy handle but was like a sucking workout to get water out of the straw. So, I bought a new S/M lid, which I had resisted because the lid costs $10 and the whole bottle and lid costs maybe $15. True the engineering is in the lid. Anyway, the new lid is way better than the S/M lid I thought was wonderful. The new opening is wider and to say it sucks marvelously is maybe an oxymoron but is true. The annoying part is, now I have to think about getting another new improved S/M lid for my second bottle, where yesterday I was perfectly happy with my S/M lid, now I don’t know how long I can stand it. We will see. I can’t imagine they will improve on this one, but who knows. I’m a slow buyer, so this story may go on and on. I’ll wait a couple years, remember I was going to replace the old good but not marvelous lid, replace it at last and find out S/M engineers have struck again and somehow made the lid even better. Please stop improving things. This new lid is plenty good enough! (Ok, go ahead if your engineers need jobs, I can keep buying lids forever, I guess.)Read more

I purchased these lids to replace some broken ones on my kids United by Blue bottles (which have been discontinued). United by Blue told me that their bottles are compatible with wide-mouth opening lids from some other brands, such as HydroFlask, so I took a risk and purchased these, based on others reviews, and they work! They do not leak and my 7 and 10 year olds can use all 3 types with ease. We are able to keep using their insulated 12 oz stainless steel vacuum sealed bottles, so this product is great!Read more

Solid great quality straw lid for the Simple Modern Summit bottles. I had bought the flip kids for the kids, but they found them difficult to open and often would not close it and spill it. This one was easy for them the lift the straw to get a drink and it doesn’t spill.Read more
