If you need to control several devices that are all nearby this smart power strip is a MUCH better option than individual smart plugs. YES, all six smart outlets on this device can be controlled separately. At $29.99 (at time of review) that is $5.00/smart plug BUT with the bonus of having 6 more standard plugs and 4 USB power ports! I am currently running this in my recording/video studio to control my key light, fill light, hair light and background ambient lights. The ‘always on’ side is powering and protecting my computer, external monitor, camera, and audio/video capture devices! The switches are fairly loud when they actuate (at least compared to my Amazon single plug) but it’s really not an issue. I love this power strip, ESPECIALLY considering it’s about $25 for a comparable but NON-smart power strip! Setup was straight forward. Like most other devices it requires an app and to sign-up for an account with said app. You then use the app to get the device on your network and cross link to your smart home devices. Easy easy!Read more

I work in my recording studio with several things plugged in a couple of surge protectors with on and off buttons. I did that for several years and it has gotten to the point that it was starting to irritate me, knowing that I had to turn a few things off while others are on but continuously turning on and off those items was a nightmare. Now, that I purchased the Echo Dot along with the WiFi surge protectors, things are much easier to control just by the sound of your own voice. My workflow has become extremely manageable and I don’t have to do too much of multitasking in-between my studio sessions.Read more

a lot of people are complaining about the app set up, i would’ve if i didn’t choose to change it from EZ mode (default) to AP mode (top right corner in app during set up) once i did it that way, it was smooth sailing. i have no connection issues, scheduling works fine when i’m home/not home. i’ll update if i context Alexa.Read more

The media could not be loaded. Best power strip I owned for all of 1 week. The internal switch for one outlet got stuck on the on position and I have no control over it. THEN I heard all of the switches tripping, and wifi no longer works. Outlet #2 is permanently on. This could have crashed my entire aquarium if I didn’t have a backup. This can also start a fire or electrocute you if heaters pop due to not shutting of during a water change. HUGE SAFTY HAZARD.Read more

Smart Plug portion of device works well. Paired fine and good control over outlets. Outlet switching off/on is loud, but if that does not matter, then no problem. The only serious issue relates to the USB plugs. They cannot be independently controlled, but more importantly if you intend to use them with music equipment (Chromecast or and Echo) there is serious ground noise making those plugs not useable. Pulling them out of that USB power and into a regular plug with adapter made the device quiet again.Read more

The Alexa integration was fast and seamless. I didn’t have a smart life account, but seeing one up took seconds and I didn’t have to give permissions on the app to do so. After setting the account up, I deleted the smart life app and paired it with my echo. I have studio lights plugged into the wifi outlets. I love being able to turn them all on instantly and get to work. Once paired with Alexa, you can re-name both the device and each individual outlet right through the echo device. The strip comes named wifi socket. So I said to my echo device “Alexa, rename wifi socket – studio lights” so the entire power strip is now turned on by saying “Alexa turn on audio lights”. I named each outlet/plug by the corresponding light name. So if I want to turn off the bottom back lights, I would say “Alexa, turn off light 3 and light 4”, so 2 of the plugs go off while the rest stay on. The other 6 outlets are always on, very handy for my overhead lights that I usually have on all day. So far, not one single issue. It’s sturdy and durable, and I intend to buy more for home too!Read more

In an effort to conserve energy I’ve been trying to turn off as many electrical items as I can each night. This smart power cord is excellent for for quickly turning off an entire segment of items in my living room while also giving me the option with the non-smart plugs to leave things like my Wi-Fi router and humidifier still on. It easily connected to my Alexa Echo Dot and all I have to do is tell it to turn off and I’m done. If it works in combination with my other smart home features, I expect to see at least another 5% decrease in my electric bill.Read more
