I only bought it to have a way to compose documents. I didn’t have Word and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I haven’t used it a lot yet, but what I have done has been simple to use. Would recommend it for simple home use.Read more

I would recommend this to anyone tlooking for an alternative to Microsoft 365. Installing the program is easy, it is intuitive and easy to use, moreso than MS 365 that seem convoluted in some cases. There are some programs that don’t accept TextMaker, and unfortunately the only alternative is MS Word. Then theres the “sneaky” takeover that MS will do when you are least expecting it, and all of a sudden TextMaker has been converted to MS Word. That being said, using vigilance when using this program will get you many miles with it. Its definitely worth the time and effort. Their customer service is the best, and responded quickly with a solution after attempting to convert documents in MS Word to a TextMaker format in Drop Box.Read more

Been using MS Office for decades to accommodate sharing documents in a Microsoft dominated market. With the last home computer upgrade it appears that I can no longer buy MS Office but must pay an annual fee. No thank you. That sent me on the hunt and after using the free version of this software decided that it is well worth the money to have access to templates and the many other features. I have been using this for over a month now and can save documents in multiple formats making it still possible to share documents with others easily. I am very happy with the features.Read more

Great wee bit of software. I hate the move to software that is only “rented” for a yearly fee, is dependent on the internet to work and you’re beholden to pay a fee annually just to use it. My studio has no internet access so that’s no good to me, even if I was prepared to spend a fortune just to type a few quotes and update stock spreadsheets. This, on the other hand, is absolutely great. Works with all my old Excel and Word files, is easy to install and use and I’m very happy.Read more

I can use the spreadsheet and the power point functions. I bought this software for the text function which no longer works. I got an error message saying that one of the text software files was missing. I tried to reinstall the product without success. I attempted to get support but have not heard back from the company.Read more

The copy I received was a Portable model and the NX version, which, after a year would require a fee. It was only a CD and while the product box, in the ad, shows a 2021 version for 5 pcs, this portable model is for unlimited, which would be fine, except this portable model is not the Newer 2021 with the extra search features and dictionaries. I have the 2018 version and see no difference. It does work, however, so if you need a word processor this would not be a bad choice except for the NX, as mentioned on the Softmaker website, requires a yearly subscription fee. I am not going to keep it for 12 months to find out. So, I returned it and the seller refunded with no problem. I repeat — what is advertised is not what I received. And, I was not looking for a Portable Version.Read more
