Would be a 5 but I HATE the way this product dispenses. It has some kind of plastic pressure valve that causes a LOT to come out when you squeeze the bottle. Since I use this product for prevention of/treatment for my rescue bunnies’ butt baths (if soiled or incontinent or fungal genital infection), I do not need a big glob of product. I bought an empty squeeze bottle, do one squeeze of this into it, then fill with water and shake. It’s diluted perfectly this way.Read more

When my pit bull tested positive for just about every environmental allergy you can think of, this shampoo was given to me (for purchase) from the animal allergy specialty vet I took him to. I’ve got two rescue pit bulls, both of who have environmental or inhalant allergies. Their paws will get itchy and they’ll start to lick. They will also get what looks like a mild or light ringworm on their bellies and legs; and white dandruffy bumps on their back. This stuff works wonders. Bathing them 1-2 times per week got “the itchiest under control and now a bath every two weeks maintains their allergies here in FL. The price is nearly half the cost as what the vet charges so this is great!Read more

I was reordering the first one, that is what was pictured when I ordered, but I received the second shampoo instead. This is the second time it has happened. I mailed back first one, reordered and once more got the other shampoo. The one I have and wanted says antiseptic. The one I received says antiseptic and anti fungal. Of the main ingredients only one is the same. What’s going on? I’m just going to get it from my veterinarian. Easier than driving to UPS to return once more. This obviously isn’t a review of the product since I will not be using itRead more

This product is amazing! I have a rescue doxie who has perpetual skin issues. She’s had dandruff and huge patches of flaky skin which left her with bald spots all over her body. For a year I’ve tried all kinds of treatments, including fish and coconut oil. Nothing worked. I’ve used this product as directed, 3 times a week. I also used the spray on the non shampoo days. After only a week, the majority of her scabs are gone and she doesn’t have any dandruff. I highly recommend this shampoo if you have a dog with skin issues. It really is worth the price.Read more

I use this on my pit bull that has severe allergies. I alternate this and dish soap for baths weekly. (Alternate route not dry out skin too much) Removes all pollen and cleans skin well. I am a vet tech and recommend this to all my patients along with seeking direction from their veterinarian. Alway consult your vet! This will not fix or treat allergies themselves, but can help with some of the symptoms by getting the skin extra clean beyond what traditional shampoos will. My only regret is that this shampoo does not foam very well. That’s just a personal preference. Even with my own soaps, I like to see some suds. Does not change that this product is great though. A bit expensive but we buy every few months and it has never failed us. Really no scent.Read more

My female mini shnauzer mix (12 lbs) is allergic to dust mites. I rent a carpeted apartment. This stuff, paired with the mouse for in-between baths, has improved BOTH of our lives! At first, I started out with 2 baths per week (I live in a more humid area), then reduced this to 1/week and have seen drastic changes. Her hair has grown back behind her legs and ears, she doesn’t gnaw around her paws and legs (only occasionally), and all hot spots disappeared within a couple of weeks. To further rid our space of the dust mites, I purchased Allersearch ADMS Anti-Allergen spray (that I use on my furniture and carpets), vacuum twice per week, and I bought a zippered mattress encasement (I bought mine off of amazon.. but any waterproof/sealed one will do the trick).Read more

We LOVE this shampoo, and our vet ran out so we ordered it here. However, 500ml or 16Oz was only $61. Canadian. While this product was TWICE the price.Read more

Miraculous. For two years, we have been battling an unknown skin condition in our black and white Pit mix. It would come and go, and each time it came back back, it would be much worse than before. Our poor boy had quarter-sized bald patches all over from the collar down. His belly and the skin under his front legs began to look like elephant skin when it wasn’t covered in bright red bumps that would burst open and ooze. His fur fell out everywhere at the slightest touch. It was hell. He was never still for long – constantly licking, scratching, etc. We tried the cone, antibiotics, topical steroid spray, oral steroid treatment, medicated shampoos, special diet, etc. etc. and of course, repeated vet visits. It eventually became so bad, he was on steroids all the time. I began to notice however, that as soon as we stopped the course of drugs, it would attack with more strength than before. We love our vet, but out of desperation, I turned to the almighty Internet to do my own research. In my searching, I found several forums of pet owners who were dealing with this same skin condition, and in all types of breeds – shepherds, spaniels, Chow Chows, terriers, etc. The accepted theory seems to be that it is a type of staph infection that is a symptom of an allergy. Like me, these owners had been through the gamut with treatments, to no avail. And similarly, their dogs were plagued with episodes of flare ups that were worse and worse each time. Someone in one of these forums, God bless him, mentioned that he had some Chorhexidine shampoo he used on one of his horses who had a skin rash, so he started bathing his dog with a diluted version. He reported the results, saying run, don’t walk but run grab your credit card and order some of this stuff from Amazon. I did. After two shampoos, my dog had found peace from the constant irritation. After four shampoos (over the course of about 10 days) his skin was pink and healthy again and there was NO SIGN of the red, scaly, pus encrusted sores that had been ravaging his skin and destroying his beautiful coat. They were GONE. About one month later, his bald patches are filling in again. He went through a period where there was a lot of flaky skin shedding but that was minor compared to what we’d been through. His skin was just shedding in the process of healing itself. I can honestly say that in one month and about 6 shampoos, our dog is back to normal again. Now he gets a bath with this shampoo once a week to maintain and that’s it. I got the Synergy Labs version of the Chlorhexidine spray that I use in between baths if I see something that looks suspicious. Clears it right up. I have to mention that it puzzles me that our vets don’t suggest Chlorhexidine. In my research, I found hundreds of pet owners who were struggling with this and am sure they represent only a fraction of the number who are suffering through this and don’t know how to get help for it. How can the medical professionals we rely on for their knowledge, training and expertise in treating our pets either not know about this treatment or for some other reason, not prescribe it? I am not knocking veterinarians – we love ours. I am just very perplexed that they would have no knowledge of this, especially when it is almost immediately effective. Of course, I plan to mention this at our next visit so that maybe she can help others who are in a similar situation.Read more
