This is a versatile game. My son loves fly swatters but he lost interest in playing the game as intended because we played it frequently. I would encourage others facing the same challenge to play in different ways. My son loves construction so each card was a construction site and we put a block on the words when labeled or retrieved the word with a construction vehicle. Build a tower at the end! Who’s tower is the biggest? We also played dinosaurs and stomped the words with our feet or dinosaur’s feet. Lots of ways to play. I would say I loved how the words are color coated but not sure the reason behind it. “It” is level one but “at” is level three? Not a huge deal, just interesting. Wonder what the logic is behind the color classification. Also, some letters are written differently. The upper case I looks as I just wrote it-for a preschooler that looks like the lower case “l”Read more

My two boys LOVE playing this game (ages 4 & 7)! A couple of the flies came torn, but I was able to stick a little piece of tape on them and I think they’ll be fine. I’m thinking about laminating them so that they’re a little stronger. A little piece of advice, make sure the fly swatter isn’t anywhere near your hand when you’re flipping the flies over…a swat from that HURTS. 🙂 My youngest had to be reminded about patience, and I had to move quickly.Read more

Awesome Game for learning sight words! Level one is perfect for k-1st grade. I have a 3 & 6 year old and we homeschool. The game is perfect for my 6 year old. Too advanced for my youngest. The kids enjoyed using the swatters. The carrying case it comes with keeps the pieces all nicely together. I definitely recommend this game to all children learning sight words! Fun way to learn sight words!Read more

We received the game on time and we liked the quality of the fly swatters. The game comes with a cute cloth bag to keep all the items of the game. My children (5 years old and 7 years old) were excited to do some swatting. We did some rounds and it was kind of fun. Where I see the game can have some improvements are: 1) The flies are made of flimsy cardboard and it seems they will be broken soon. Other comments say that they were planning to cover the cards with plastic. Hopefully, new editions of the game are done with more durable material for the flies. 2) The word cards were hard to use. Maybe the game creators could post some other fun ways to play. 3) It is hard to keep the game divided by age level. The flies are color-coded by age level. However, they have two sides and those are not always reciprocal. You can have flies with one easy side (blue) match with a medium (green) or hard (purple)side. It is difficult to keep all the flies of the same level in one bag to pull it and play with the age-appropriate kids.Read more

Kids love the game…but it’s not going to last long. The fly pieces are cheaply made. Some were bent badly when I first opened the bag. Storage bag will be okay until I can make another, but it’s a cheap fabric and again will not last long. Swatters are okay with the play time we’ve had, hopefully they last. I’ll probably laminate the fly’s/cards and find a box to put everything in.Read more

I really love this concept! We’re in our first “summer break” from school between prek and kindergarten and I’ve been looking for other ways to make sure we keep up with sight words. This game looked like it would help. It comes with large index card sized lists of words per level/color. I thought if I would take out all flies for a specific level, I’d be able to simply read out from the list. Wrong! Not all words on the list have flies and some flies have words that aren’t on the lists. I’m not returning as it’s not my main way to keep up with sight words and reading but I wish there were better quality control. I do like that the flies were packaged in bundles and clear bands so they weren’t all over the place when my child opened the package. They also provide a nice carrying case that fits all swatters and cards.Read more

My kids are loving this game. The different levels mean that all three ages can play together. My ten year old reads pretty much anything but her spelling needs work. So she has to spell the word before she can slap it. This gives the seven year old time to beat her sometimes on the level 5 words. She only gets the level five words and he gets 1-4. MY four year old runs around slapping colors. We also through out ABC cards with pictures at the same time and she slaps those.Read more

I’ve got a child with some learning delays and that really struggles with language/reading. I’ve been looking for some fun games and activities we can do to help her since flash cards just don’t hold her attention and work for her. I was really excited to try this game out and all 4 of my kids (ages 6, 6, 4 and 2) saw it and wanted to play. It was fun and easy to adapt for all of them. I used the harder level words for one of my older kiddos, the easier levels for the middle two, and for my 2 year old, we just had her smack certain color flies that we’d call out with the fly swatter. I think there could be a lot of adaptations you could do to help keep this fun and interesting and age appropriate for different ages and skill levels. We’re really excited to just this more! My only (very minor) complaint is that I wish it came with a box instead of a bag to store it in so it was easier to store with our other games. But aside from that I love everything about it!Read more
