Kids can get rid of some excess energy with this air-powered outdoor rocket toy. No battery or fuel is needed to get the rockets airborne–just some old-fashioned stomping power. Set up the simple launch stand in a clear outdoor area, connect the 38-inch-long vinyl air hose and blast pad, load one of the 9-inch yellow foam rockets–and watch out. Our 5-year-old assistant reviewer really got a kick out of jumping on the purple blast-off pad and watching her rockets soar 50 feet or more, though she had to fight the adults for a turn. If the three rockets included with the kit aren’t enough fun, you can order stomp parachutes and spin copters from the manufacturer. –Marianne Painter

When I was looking to purchase this rocket for my kids, I was reluctant to do so, given the poor reviews of the stand. I purchased the rocket anyway after reading the review of “Tool Fan” who included instructions to make a stand out of pvc. The replacement stand worked wonderfully, but I did not need it because the manufacturer redesigned the stand! Now, with the addition of an old foot pump I have extra rocket launchers, which is always a plus. One piece of advice for others who may be reading this… Put a piece of cardboard under the air bladder (esp if you are launching off a surface other than grass / dirt), it will greatly increase the life span of the air bladder.Read more

Do not bother assembling the fragile, yellow, brittle plastic launch pad. It is wholly unnecessary, and a potential injury hazard. Just use the stomper/pump with its connected blast tube, and the foam rockets; all those are safe. I bought it for my 3 year old, 3rd percentile height & weight, 30 lb granddaughter. She didn’t have the mass to launch the rockets by stomping, but was able to easily launch them by sitting down hard on the stomper. She loved it! We took it into her preschool and all the kids loved it too. We are now reading books on rockets and space, and her preschool is going to have the kids assemble paper rockets with different shapes of fins and see what kind of rocket fin works best. I am glad to see that this device is still around; I remember loving it back when my kids were in Brownies and we were working for the Space exploration badge.Read more

I bought even though the reviews complained about the poor quality of the stand… and I was SUPER happy to see that when the gift was opened it had a new and improved tripod stand with adjustable direction mount. FANTASTIC GIFT! 5 stars!!!Read more

We loved launching these rockets, for the 10 minutes that everything stayed together. The base is three flimsy pieces of plastic that barely can hold together, use some packing tape and you can at least stick everything down to a hard surface. Otherwise the pieces continually fall apart, not to mention the launcher constantly tips over. Bigger issue is with the rocket fins. The set we purchased must have had defective glue or something because none of the fins stayed on through even a single launch. One rocket had the fins fall off immediately. Again the tape helped out a bit since I was able to painstakingly tape back on a few fins which made the rockets fly way better. Without them though the kids still had fun but these were more like out of control missiles that would go in any unknown direction than they were rockets to launch up. Even the 2 year old were wondering why this wasn’t working!Read more

Horrible construction. It’s all a bunch of cheap plastic that falls apart the minute you stomp. I can’t for the life of me understand how the design of the base was supposed to stay together. It was a huge let down considering all the positive reviews and awards. My 2.5 year old does love this toy after I “fixed” it with a few zip ties. Not even worth the return.Read more

The stomp rocket comes with the launcher and four rockets; this is the junior version–the box is approximately 12″–easy to transport in the car etc. Basically the (foam) rocket is placed on the launcher and then the air pad is stomped/jumped on. The launcher can be placed at different angels (straight up to 90 degrees). Great grandpa said he’d give the kids $1 each if they got the rocket into the bucket. They were very creative. The five year old figured out how to get all rockets on the roof of the house so you may want to have a discussion about that ahead of time:) The rockets are glow in the dark which would be a blast as well–we did not try it in the dark. The rocket will be coming with us regularly. Kids (and adults) love it. Kept 3.5 and 5.5 year old busy for over an hour straight and went back to it again after a rest. Some stomp rockets are too difficult to jump on which means the rocket won’t “take off” or go far if it does. The little one was able to get it about 20 feet in the air and older got it on top of the house! When the adults couldn’t wait any longer for their turn, the rockets went taller than huge trees–100s of feet in the air. The only negative (other than going on the roof to reclaim the rockets) The launcher itself is a bit cheap and/or has a design flaw. It kept falling apart when the kids would “stomp” on the launch pad or put the rocket onto the launching area. A bit of duct tape solved that problem but believe the manufacturer should solve that problem instead! I still recommend it b/c it works so well that a little tape is worth it. If you don’t tape it, the cross piece at the bottom that holds up the item just will need to be put back together which doesn’t take long–more frustrating than anything.Read more

So much fun! The kids LOVE this and it provides a lot of entertainment! Even our 2.5 yr old has it figured out and enjoys shooting rockets all over the house and the park. Word of warning – stay away from trees. These delightful rockets are lightweight and once they’re in a tree… good luck? We’ve only lost one, but it was sad. The stand is kind of hard to keep together, but I think using some tape to keep it together during a round of rockets would work OK.Read more

Brilliant – 3 year old grandson had an absolute blast (pardon the pun) with this (and so did the adults). Easy construction and set up. Other reviews around the stand coming apart are correct but that is because the thing does move about when you jump on it, especially with any force. Easily sorted with an application of tape but it didnt stop any of the fun regardless. The highest we got it up to (was purchased for grandson but you have to have a go don’t you!) was about 100 feet. Not quite the international space station but that’s the next version up! Great toy lots of fun – can’t wait for the wind to die down so we can have another go. Recommended.Read more

Bought this based on reviews and wasn’t disappointed, bought to keep children amused at a get together and it certainly did that.. the whole afternoon.Good fun had by children and adults, impressively high rockets, great for wide open spaces but probably not your average back garden as they go so high you are bound to lose a few! You get four in the box and you need them! More can be ordered separate from Amazon. If you want hours and I mean hours of fun with the kids then give it a go. great for all ages even babies can sit on the footpad and easily set a rocket off. Rockets are made of very light foam so would not hurt on landing. I’d give more stars if I could.Read more

We bought two of these for our twin grandsons aged 6. They have really enjoyed playing with them and it helps to keep them healthy as they chase after the rockets to recover them after launch. Good value for money. The frame which holds the launcher is a little unstable, but my daughter fixed this by using a plastic tie to keep it togetherRead more

When I first time saw it my reaction was “why I paid for it” but after first play I realised that it is well worth £10+ So much fun and shoots so high! Bought to set first one for my own kids and other one as a present. Obviously don’t try it out in a garden, you need wide, open space for it.Read more

Absolutely brilliant toy for tiring out two kids! Easy to use and really effective. It packs up quite compact so we can bring it with us on daily lockdown walks and use it in the field nearby. Word of warning. If you’re in a garden, On first use do not jump on it with all your might without aiming the rocket or else it will fly up to the stars and land about three streets away. Thankfully it comes with 4 rockets so you can replace the ones you lose to overeager four year olds.Read more
