An easy method to test if your oil is pure is by comparing it to a reputable brand such as “Now.” Included with this review are pictures of the test. A drop of each oil was placed on a sheet of paper and a hair dryer was used to evaporate the oil. Pure tea tree oil from “Now” evaporates completely from the paper leaving no stain while the “Sun” brand leaves a carrier oil stain. Another test is to place a drop of oil between 2 fingers and rub them to test the viscosity. If it feels slick like a vegetable oil. There may be a carriar oil mixed with essential oil. Pure tea tree essential oil will not feel slick like vegetable oil. Sun’s oil has the slick viscosity of a carrier oil.Read more

This stuff is awful! It smells NOTHING like tea tree oil. As other reviewers have stated, it smells exactly like Pine Sol. I never write reviews, but this is so terrible that I felt I needed to warn others.Read more

I am a Chemist and ran a quick analysis on this oil. It appears to be 100% Tea Tree oil and not adulterated. Made up of terpenols, terpenes and pinenes as it should be. Didn’t see any cheap plant oils like corn oil in there. Scent is typical of Tea Tree Oil also. Scent is somewhat similar to pine sol but not as strong and more pleasant to my nose. Works on my eczema when it flares up also.Read more

This product says Tea Tree on the front. Notice it does not SAY Tea Tree OIL!!!! It cannot be returned and you will be stuck with a purchase of a product which MAY or MAY NOT be useful only for a diffuser. It DOES NOT say on the bottle what, IF ANY ingredients (other than water with a scent) are in the bottles!! I cannot believe this product even pops up on when one searches for tea tree oil. I suppose no one has bothered to verify the product. It should only pop up if one is searching for diffuser products. Since the bottle does not indicate what is in it; then, I hesitate to even use it as an airborne product in ANY diffuser. Well, the misleading advertising and good price caught me!! I bought FOUR bottles that I will have to just throw in the TRASH!!Read more

If this contains Tea Tree Oil, it is heavily diluted. Real Tea Tree Oil is a thin, solvent-like chemical with a sharp, turpentine aroma. It has a painful, burning effect when applied directly to skin, like a mild chemical-peel. You are typically supposed to dilute it in some other oil before using it on skin. This stuff, on the other hand, is a viscous, mildly piney-smelling vegetable oil that you could almost use as hand lotion. If it actually contains any Tea Tree Oil, it’s more like 5%, not 100%. This product advertises itself as much cheaper than any other band of Tea Tree oil, ounce for ounce. That’s because it’s not really tea tree oil. It’s some kind of “essential oil” blend. It might contain some tea tree oil, but it’s mostly other stuff.Read more

Had an off smell. After doing research(after bottle was pretty much empty although I know I should have done beforehand-lesson learned!)I found out some pretty horrific things about the essential oil industry. First off, I’m like 99.9% sure that this is synthetic tea tree oil.. aka bad chemicals. Which would be fine for things like cleaning, I guess, but the problem is people, like myself, but this oil under the impression that it’s okay to put in your skin, hair, nail, add it to Spears and body care products. And in doing that we are adding harmful, only god knows what the hell is really in “oil” to our body’s. Pretty scary stuff. And I’ll just say one last thing, even if you think you know what your buying, in reality it’s almost impossible to know your actually getting the product that the bottle claims is inside of it. The essential oil industry, including labeling, has no real regulations, rules, guidelines, and of course there is nothing to make sure somebody Oversees these company’s and their practices. So basically there is no laws saying they can’t lie to and deceive the consumer and no laws saying they can’t add harmful ingredients and not mention it on the bottle or just lie about what’s in The bottle altogether. I encourage to not take my word for it, but to do your own reasearch.. ESPECIALLY before buying products like this one and exposing you and your family to only god knows what.Read more

This ‘100% Pure Essential Oil’ is terrible! Do not waste your ten bucks. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Having used certified essential melaleuca tea tree oil, I know the smell. This stuff smells disgusting as soon as you open the bottle. Every time my husband used it he smelled like someone had dumped Pine Sol all over him. I literally could not stand it. Reminded me of working in fast food and having to mop the kitchen floor. I’m not sure how they can sell this as ‘100% Pure Essential Oil’ and get away with it. It most certainly is not. Some cheap oil and fillers and fake scents are all I can think of. I’m sure it didn’t disinfect the way it is supposed to either. Gross all the way around. Shop at Rocky Mountain Oils for genuine essential oils and no MLM scheme. I’m mad I wasted my money on this crap.Read more
