I needed to buy a new charger for my surface pro 7 after my original microsoft charger stopped working. I looked hard for a good charger because i read reviews that chargers burn, melt, and interfere with your mouse interface. But so far, i’m glad with the charger i bought as it hasn’t been heating up like most do and works fine. The cord is long and it has that additional piece that makes it short if you need it. UPDATED: DO NOT BUY!!! Please save your money and just buy an original charger or look elsewhere. After having this charger for a little over 6 months, it messed up my Surface pro charging port. Tried charging it one night and the charger sparked and my laptop smoked up, going to cost me a whole new laptop. Please do not buy.Read more

I bought this because I thought it would be a good secondary adapter/cahrger to keep around the house. The OEM adapter/charger my Surface Pro 7 came with, I had envisioned, would be my primary “travelling” charger. Well, that got flipped pretty quickly. The product came with a nice “wall plug” thingy that pretty much shortens the chord when needed — pretty cool. But the real kicker are the Velcro straps that come with both sides of the brick (the connector chord and the power chord). It helps keep everything nice and tidy when packing it away — very vital for a “traveling” adapter. I would have given this 5-stars, but the handy little carrying case it came with was too fragile. I broke out the zipper on the second day. No big deal, I just purchased a better quality case on Amazon for less the $10.00. But it did cost the product a whole star for review purposes.Read more

This may be an otherwise great charger but “a chain is only as strong as its weakest link” and you can see for yourself the weak link. This was after only 3 months of daily but very light duty use while couch surfing. This should not happen. I purchased this based on the excellent reviews but my experiences is real and similar to Donna Bassets 1 star “Safety Hazard” review on Dec 24, 2020 and yes, bare wires like this are a bigtime safety hazard. Highly NOT recommended. And if you can recommend an alternate, please let me know. Thank you!Read more

I’ve had this for 2.5 months. Bought this as a replacement for my Microsoft surface since my charger had wear and tear from years of use. Worked ok at first, but then started to become very finicky and I’d have to have just the right placement for it to charge well. I put up with it because of how cheap it was. BUT, today I went to plug in my computer and smelled smoke, then I heard sparks. The charger was sparking at the connection between the battery and the cord and was burning my carpet and smoke was in the air!! This was cheap, but not at the cost of starting a house fire! I’m just grateful I hadn’t walked out of the room yet, because I was going to! This literally was about to start a fire in our home. Would not recommend this product to anyone, for obvious reasons. I bought this bcuz the original power supply/charging cord for my Surface Pro quit working after 4 years. I was a little hesitant to buy a charger that was not made by Microsoft. (Have you seen the prices for Microsoft chargers??) I began using the charger I purchased a few days ago. So far, no problems! I have put my hand on the charging block while it was recharging & it does warm a bit BUT hasn’t felt hot at all. My reason for giving this charger only 4 stars is because I haven’t had it long enough to know how it will perform over time & don’t know how durable it is. There is 1 thing I don’t like about it. The laptop end of the cord is magnetic BUT just barely. It really could use some improvement. It comes loose fairly easily. But it still has a lower price than the original!Read more

My official Microsoft charger broke due to some manhandling. Before getting this charger, I picked up a generic replacement charger from a local vendor because I needed my surface to work and Microsoft doesn’t sell the official charger in South Africa, where I live. I noticed the generic replacement charger was causing phantom touches on my phone (when plugged into the USB port) and it was badly affecting my ability to use the touch screen and the touchpad on my type cover. I noticed that this electromagnetic interference is common with some chargers and you’ll notice people mention it in some reviews here on Amazon. Since getting THIS charger, however, the problem has completely gone away. The touchpad and touch screen are working perfectly. Even my type cover seems cooler to the touch.
