We purchased this for our grandson and he has loved it so much his family bought a second one for their home. When they have play dates, we loan them ours since it is a big hit and hard to share! The bucket broke with a ‘big dig’ one day and we were so disappointed to be without it for play outdoors. Contacting River Colony Trading was very easy and they were so professional and helpful. My sons love this! We also purchased a large sand box and placed this inside of it. It’s not as bulky as I thought it would be, which is a big plus. Has been very durable and I’ve had it for several months now. Most things break within a week with my 6 and 4 year old. This has been able to take the abuse! They have so much fun transferring sand from the box into dump trucks and so forth. Has really helped my 4 year old with his coordination. I should also let you know, this has been outside for several months in all types of weather. It has held up great. I highly recommend this.Read more

It’s an ok product. Metal pieces are pretty thin, and it’s a little smaller than expected. Not as good of quality as I would expect for 55$. Was a little disappointed upon opening it though because it came covered is a rusty dust, one of the bars had the paint and some metal scraped off on an edge (leaving it a little sharp), and the bucket came scratched up. It it wouldn’t have been taped closed upon recieval I would have thought I got shipped a returned product. I know it’s an outside toy, and it’s going to get scratched up, I just typically don’t expect new products to come scraped up/dirty in the box.Read more

The media could not be loaded. Great outside toy. I would say it works best in sand or soft dirt, I would imagine snow would be good too. My 4 year old loves it. Even my 9 year old uses it. The bucket is plastic so I don’t know how long that will last. That’s really the only thing I would change. The seat is heavy plastic which is fine. And the body is metal.Read more

This was way more involved than I expected. The instructions were not very helpful as all the nuts and bolts were mixed together in one bag. I couldn’t tell which bolt was which most of the time. You’ll need a screw driver and a wrench or socket set, as it’s impossible to tighten everything otherwise. All the nuts are lock nuts, so once you get everything tightened, it’s fairly sturdy. Even as my son plays with it as I write this review, it looks a little wobbly overall. My son adores it though, and I figure that I can tighten things up with more washers. My son is happy, and it hasn’t broken yet, so I’m mostly satisfied.Read more

Got this for my two nieces who love construction and have a large dirt pit they like to dig in. I think this thing was built more for sand than anything because the plastic scoop broke it’s teeth off within two days, then the whole bucket broke in half after four days. The base is pretty wobbly but can easily be secured to the ground using some stakes. If you’re buying this for a large sand pit or a beach, this will work great but not for dirt/mud.Read more

Beware: the box claims it is a high quality metal digger, but in fact is not. It is plastic. It doesn’t feel like the bucket will make it very long, any bump from another toy or digging too hard could break off the tooth. Very disappointed as the metal digger claim was the reason we chose this one over others. Such a great outdoor digging toy!! My three year old LOVES this toy so much. It is good quality, very sturdy. I was able to put it together by myself, but the last part was a bit difficult. I would recommend having a second set of hands to finish putting it together without frustration. My son was quickly able to figure out how to use the handles to maneuver the scoop. While this toy is sturdy, it is also light so you or your child can easily move it wherever you want it to go. Excellent toy for any construction/excavation fanatic!Read more
