I have several of switchbots other bot products and wanted to try this little camera since the price was affordable. The biggest issue is the power cable that connects to the back of this little camera. The connection is NOT secure at all and the cable unplugs way too easily shutting off the camera. Slightest movement of the camera makes cable unplug. I bought two of these cameras and both of the cameras the cable connects not secure. If you want to sign up with their cloud service is $7.90 each camera per month for cloud storage keeping in mind it is only recording motion/events and not 24/7 footage. I like the size of this camera, it’s compact and light weighted, so I can stick it onto the cabinet don’t need to mount on wall. Video quality is good in both daylight and night mode. The mobile app is easy to use, I can monitor my home anywhere anytime.Read more

Pros: – Stream on my Nest Hub! – Easy to setup – Good image with and without Night Vision – Motion Sensor differentiate Cat and Human – The magnet allow you to stick it everywhere Cons: – Lack of stability if used without screws or sticker – Would I like USB-C – Android Apps need more improvement At first glance, the camera seem well made, comparable to any other camera in this price range. The base of the cam could have been heavier, it would have made it more stable, you will really need the screw it or stick it with the screws and sticker include in the package, but they also include a magnet inside which is useful to stick it on everything metal (see picture). I’m disappointed that they don’t use USB-C instead of the micro USB, this is a newly device and I would have expected this, but this is a minor point overall. The image quality is quite good when streaming, motion detector have nice “human detection” feature, it will detect me but not my cat as expected. The night mode works well with a clear and nice image. The speaker and microphone are a turn down, it reminded me of old school baby monitor from the 90s, you’ll hardly be able to really have a 2 way conversation with it. The setup process was easy, I would have appreciate a guide to connect it to Google Home, it’ll setup as any other device compatible with Google Home but still it could be hard for newcomer. Once connected to Google Home I was able to stream it’s content on my Nest Hub. As any device connected to the Cloud, I was concerned about security, some further research show me they use AWS behind, which is normally pretty secure. If you have other SwitchBot devices and want an indoor camera, it will do great and fit with your ecosystem. If you don’t have others devices from the same company and are not interested in their ecosystem, this camera will do well too, but other camera will also do the same works so it’s up to you to find the best price. I have to mention their Android Apps, it works.. but really lack of polish. The good point is that software could be updated and improved, the have a good base, but I hope they will put more importance in it in the future.Read more

This is my second purchase of this Switchbot Indoor Cam and I am really happy with this purchase. The AI features (Person Detection) is included (free) and works quite well. It’s able to trigger my alexa routines and has pretty quick response time. With an SD card it allows for 24-7 recording so you can monitor your home constantly. There is a timeline that you can scroll on throughout a particular day. I like that I can also converse two-way talk with my kids while I am at work.Read more

This little security camera is awesome! There are so many options for home cameras on the markets, with so many of them starting at over $100. I am so glad that I ended up going with the Switchbot camera. The pictures looked like it was going to be a small camera and that is what I was looking for. They were very accurate. The camera itself is very small and lightweight. I was happy to see it included a magnetic moving base that can be attached to the bottom or the back of the camera. The picture quality is where I was really shocked! This camera really delivers. The image was much better than I was expecting. You always hear you get what you pay for, but if that were the case, this camera should cost 3 or 4 times what it does. The night vision also works very well! Setting up the camera was very easy. You just download the app, enter your wifi password, and let the camera scan your phone screen. That’s it! It took like 5 minutes from opening the box to using the camera. I also love that you can use a MicroSD card up to 128GB. Wyze cams only let you use up to 32GB so that is a huge step up! Overall, I am extremely pleased with this camera and have already purchased 4 more for the rest of my house and to use one for a baby monitor. You won’t be disappointed with the Switchbot camera. The camera feels solidly built and has great video quality. I found the mount quite fiddly to attach to the camera, almost to the point I thought I was doing something wrong. Bonus points for the choice of two mounting points and the magnet inside the mount. Really well thought out and super useful when attaching to the side of something rather than on top. The camera connects via the cloud, which will not be an issue for some/(most?) users, but personally I access all my current camera streams locally. However I have read from what looks like a reputable source, that local/RTSP access will be coming in a future firmware update. If this does indeed happen then I’ll be updating this review to 5 stars, and will probably purchase some extra ones too to replace some of my older indoor cameras!Read more

I don’t have a smartmeter at home, and my meter is not very accessible, tired to go downstair all the time to check the temperature, I bought this little camera and put exacly in front of the meter.
