My cat was having some intense anxiety issues and started to charge our other cats after getting startled a few times. We got her this jacket and while she has stopped completely, even becoming a lovebug, I’m disappointed in just how easily this thing is damaged. I’ve only had this for maybe a month, and she’s already licked off the velcro attached to the neckpiece (appears to be attached with glue instead of being sewn on) and is damaging the rest of the jacket by licking it as soon as it’s on. She’s also biting at it occasionally and tries to pull it off. But most of the damage is done just by her constantly licking at it. I’ve made sure dozens of times that it’s not too tight around her neck and body, even leaving it too loose a few times just to see how she felt, but she never stops licking it. This jacket has made the house more peaceful, but I don’t want to have to buy a new one every month or two. It would be great if the velcro wasn’t just glued onto the fabric.Read more

I like the thunder shirt it as helped my cat with her grooming problem and it seems to keep her calm as she is a very nervous cat and gets cold a lot, only problem i have got is with the velcro as she can tear the front flap off but im going to attach a prestud to it so she cant get it off.Read more

My poor cat was so anxious when we had to move into a hotel after damage to our home from the Texas Frozen Tundra Storm of 2021. We tried everything. Unfortunately, this didn’t work either. We put in on and he fell over like a sack of flour and didn’t move. It appeared he looked like he was in a straight jacket and not in relief. We removed it immediately and he went to hide in the closet. It was so sad. I was very hopeful but no such luck. Seems either they are fine with it or hate it. Mine hated it. I’ve read it works better with dogs.Read more

I bought this because it was a Godsend for my over hyper, anxious puppy. Unfortunately this was not a go for the kitty however. Fir one thing it was too small and squeezed the life outta her. Second, she couldn’t walk straight once it was on and kept falling over. Third, turns out she didn’t need it after all. All of which was no fault of the company. They still get a 5 star review because there product is so good. This is the second time I’ve purchased with them and won’t hesitate to do it again if needs be. In the end I returned it back to Amazon and it was a smooth transaction.Read more

My cat weighs 7 lb so should fit in a small, was disappointed when I went to put it on her and it couldn’t even wrap around her. I love the one for my dog and the fit on it is excellent don’t know why the cat one isn’t sized appropriately. Really needed this to be right because my poor street rescue cat is terrified of fireworks that everyone has begun to play with. Hopefully the next size up gets here soon. Updated Got my reorder for the next size up and it was a obviously tampered with box with manufacturers labels of small but a Amazon product UPC of medium. Double check the product and indeed they sent me another small despite me ordering a medium. Luckily the Amazon call center was back up and running so a associate who was very helpful has sent a replacement. More unnecessary waiting and I’m sceptical on if I’m going to get the needed medium.Read more

DON’T buy a small whatever you do. When you size these, you have to factor in the overlap of the Velcro that feeds back into brace (So you have to factor in redundant length or it won’t fit properly.) I cant think of anything that would wear a small, and I have a smallish 5 year old Persian flame tale and she weighs about 7 pounds. I ordered a small and would up just altering it, and resewing the straps to be slightly longer. I only did this because I had all the material on hand. The actual product works pretty well, but I cant imagine it fixing crazy. There is a noticeable difference in the cat’s anxiety levels, and the cat will initially fall down after wear the Thundershirt. It will happen and don’t laugh as the cat, it knows. We spent a little time ever day getting the cat used to the shirt, until she could wear it for longer periods of time, Our cat had anxiety issues after a move, and it really helped to calm her down. For our cat she liked a snug, but not tight fit.Read more

So if you notice most of the cats that are wearing this are laying down… this is literally like a straight jacket for a cat. Our 7lb cat couldn’t move in the small. She just laid there… looked miserable. I thought about getting a Medium and then said never mind. If she can’t walk in it now why would it be any different in a M. I’m not sure this actually works. I would buy a calming collar and some anxiety chews… those two ended up doing wonders for our poor older kitty that was getting sick every day with separation anxiety. She is calm and chill and not sick… and we didn’t need this silly straight jacket. I get this idea but sorry, this was a no for us… maybe it might work better for a young kitty that can get acclimated to the fit.Read more

I went by the size guide of Small for <9 lbs. for my 8 lb baby, and it was too small. I tried to get it for the 4th of July fireworks and it came in time, but not enough time to exchange it. I had to buy it in store at PetSmart for slightly more money to get the bigger size in time. I also didn't get it in enough time for the cat to get used to it, but she seemed well enough in it. Unfortunately, I was unprepared for fireworks being shot off in the street just three doors down because of the coronavirus cancellations of official fireworks shows. People were shooting them off in every direction, it looked like a war zone with all of the smoke and flashes of light. The cat was terrified, the vest just made her unable to move quickly or hide well. Got some calming treats in her and plan to practice more for next year. I think it will help as she gets used to it. I don't think it'd work for every cat, but it's very well made and great quality.Read more
