Another review : First off these are great little traps. easy to set and use. Catch and kill quickly. Easy to release the mouse from trap without having to handle the rodent. I think most people have an expectation that these are multi-use traps. The Tomcat video even shows the easy release, inferring that you will be keeping the trap vs just tossing the entire mouse / trap ensemble. My experience is that these will work a couple of times then they get hard to set and eventually either fail to release or the little white trigger bar will break at the back. Being a take-apart / fix-it type guy I took one of my failed traps apart to see why they fail. What I found was everything looked fine. My experiment was to reassemble and basically lubricate the trap’s “hinged” areas. Well that fixed the trap. What I found was a small drop of vegetable oil, mineral or baby oil placed on the back of the traps trigger is a good way to keep them working. Use something that is not going to damage plastic. Probably a good silicon oil or gel would be perfect. You do not need to dis-assemble the trap. just put a drop through the open back on the hinge and latch bar. I now lube that back trigger area before any use and I keep catching mice. As an FYI, contacting “Tomcat” they will tell you these are one use but will refund your costs for this trap but you need a real receipt and or the actual cardboard UPC code before they will refund. enjoyRead more

I would give this one million stars if I could! It actually caught TWO mice at the same time! I didn’t even know that was possible!Read more

The media could not be loaded. One night, two occasions, it failed to catch a rat. That’s two fails too many. First time, it just bit the side and dragged it, and it went off so I reset it. Second time, this trap just didn’t catch it. See video. Maybe this would work for small mice, but rats are no dice.Read more

Bought different set of mouse traps from the wooden traps, glue traps, live catch traps, and nothing caught the mice (2 of them) in our house except these. One mouse was in our garage, eating the rice we had in the factory bag. I put one of these things near the rice (took away the rice) and put the Tomcat mouse attractant gel on as bait. Caught the mouse overnight. The mouse on my 2nd floor was much harder to catch. It used my room as a playground and irritated the heck out of me at night. I put 2 Catcha traps in my room using TomCat mouse gel attractant. I put 2 Multi-catch see through mouse traps in my room. I put 2 TomCat Press N Set traps with gel attractant. The mouse avoided all of them. I then bought rat glue traps and mouse glue traps with bacon as bait and put them all in my room. Nothing. This went on for 3 weeks without me catching it. I put a bunch of Victor wooden traps and TomCat Press N Set traps with gel attractant in the kitchen. Nothing. I found 3 mouse poop near the refrigerator. At the time, I was making spam ham fried rice, and one small spam flew out of the pan while I was cooking it. Decided to take that spam and use it as bait. Put it in a Press N Set trap where I found the mouse poop. Within 2 hours, I found the mouse caught in the trap and dead. So all in all, the Tomcat Mouse Attractant Gel worked so-so. Caught one mouse in the garage with the gel, but failed to catch the mouse in my room and kitchen for 3 weeks. The Victor wooden traps with TomCat Mouse Attractant Gel failed to catch the mice. Catcha Smart Mouse Trap with attractant gel failed to catch. Live Multiple catch traps failed to catch. Glue traps failed to catch. In the end, it took a while, but the Press N Set got them all (hopefully). Spam ham bait works well apparently :)Read more

Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Omg!! This thing works!!!!! So I had a mouse in my apartment and I was FLIPPING out. Seriously flipping out. I bought mouse traps, mouse deodorizer, glue traps, plugged my holes in my closet with foam, got a mouse deterrent plug-in, used peppermint oil, etc. I didn’t see the mouse at all. I figured I blocked him from coming back. Nope. Late one night, the bugger comes out from behind the wall unit in my apartment & I scream and flip out again. Yet, this time he is truly trapped in this location, no leeway. I set up this trap along with the black one from this same company that I bought. The mouse was smart, he looked out from his crack ABOVE THE TRAPS FOR ME!!! Ok, bugger, I’m gonna attempt to get you. I sprayed peppermint oil & put a towel above the traps so that the only way he’d get out would be by getting snapped up. The mouse was smart. He skipped the first trap, but the second one got him (his head), then the first one snapped on his abdomen. It took him probably about 10 seconds to suffer, then he died. From the time I set up the traps, it took an hour to get him. I LOVE THESE TRAPS. I am definitely going to keep a few extra around for safe keeping. And also continue to patch up any existing holes. Make no mistake, you WILL know when your prey has died. The traps are super loud. But what an amazing confirmation. I celebrated with a cocktail thereafter. Yes, this event was indeed worth celebrating.Read more

Wow, the quality on these has gone way down. I had previously rated them four stars (older product design or material,) they were great and lasted years. However, the last two sets I have bought have been failures. Two out of four broke after catching their first mice (within days of purchase.) Really? Two out of four fail? Horrible product quality now. I cannot recommend these if two out of four fail, statistically that should be improbable. Either they stopped random checks, changed factories, or have just plain skimped on the plastic’s quality. [Update] Four out of four are broken. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.Read more
