This part fit perfectly on my YWED9250WW1 Whirpool Dryer. The unit had stopped tumbling, the original pulley had locked up and ended up damaged, causing the belt to slip and eventually fall off the motor/pulley path. This part was the perfect replacement, once installed, the dryer unit started operating normally again.Read more

Would give a five, but…there must be a change in whoever manufactured this part. We had ordered this same part a few years ago and it fit exactly onto the shaft it needs to go on. However, with this one, it doesn’t slid on at all. There’s a 1000th of an inch difference (or less) in the Inner Diameter (ID) of the bushing from the previous part to this one. Here’s how I fixed it. Take a half inch drill (fits perfectly) bit and run it on the inside of the part for about a minute or two while rotating the part at the same time. This ensures the ID is rounded out as evenly as possible. You will notice the smallest amount of metal powder appearing on the part and in your hand. Check the fit of the pulley onto the shaft. You may have to repeat this process a few times until the pulley fits perfectly onto the shaft AND spins freely as it should.Read more

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer about 7 years old. The idler pulley inside had gone bad creating a loud screeching noise and I chose BlueStars as my replacement pulley. It came right on time thanks to Amazon Prime. The fit was tight. After thoroughly cleaning the shaft with goo gone, however, I was able to get the pulley on but it was still stiff in turning. I applied light machine grease and the pulley turned much freer but was still tight. I reassembled the dryer and the noise is gone. The part was inexpensive and thanks to youtube, I was able to learn how to replace the part myself saving an expensive service call.Read more

Part is idler pulley for my Kenmore HE3 dryer. Fit as advertised, I had to remove the back pannel that had about a dozen or more screws. Then removed 1 bolt that held the bracket and pulley. There is a tension spring that keeps the pressure and the pulley on tight. there is a plastic triangle that keeps the pulley on and a round plastic washer between the pulley and bracket. The old worn out pulley came off easy enough. It’s a very tight fit to get the bushing (not a bearing) on to the bracket, I used a large pair of channel locks and slowly sqweezed it on to the bracket. The hardest part of the part replacement was the tension spring, after the bracket is bolted back on and the belt on, get the tension spring back on.. I was trying with needle nosed pliers and the darn spring kept turning right before I could get it lined up. My solution was to us a small pair of vise-grips to lock on to the bottom of the spring and stretch it to fit in at the bottom. YouTube has how to videos if you search for them. *The picture was taken before the new one was installed. The seller was good, no complaints and delivered in timely manner.Read more

The quality of the product was good, but it did not appear to be the direct replacement for the original pulley. It was larger OD by approximately 1/4″. The original slid off the shaft easily, but the replacement was a heavy interference fit. I had to lubricate the shaft and tap the new pulley into place where it stopped 1/2 way on. When attempting remove the stuck replacement pulley off the shaft, the plastic pulley separated from its metal hub. I used channel locks against the end of the hub and the backside of the bracket to move the hub into proper position. Once in position I installed the plastic pulley onto the hub. It turned very tight, but once I put the belt back in place and started the drier it ran fine and the squealing was gone. My rating would have been higher but for the difficulty in installation. It turned a 10 minute job into 70 minutes.Read more

The price was right, but the product, not so much. This Blue Stars replacement idler pulley lasted just over 6 months and then exploded apart. The product description says “Ultra Durable” which has proven to be incorrect in my experience, as 6 months is no where near ultra durable. It also says “Exact Fit for Whirlpool & Kenmore dryer” which is not accurate. It did not fit well on the shaft of my Kenmore dryer, and yes it was the correct replacement part for my model. It took force and effort to get it in place. Then it began to squeal right from the start, and operated loudly when it wasn’t an all on squeal. As it approached its end, it squealed loudly and regularly, signifying its imminent demise. As a dryer repair like this is a bit of a job, this time I searched for better parts and found a genuine Whirlpool part to replace this one. It was more expensive but reasonable and, I think, worth every penny. It slid on the shaft properly and easily, and the dryer sounds quieter than it has in ages.Read more

This recommended by amazon so I purchase for a very bargain price. I thought as recommended by amazon I thought they are recommending me what I’m looking for. So I did purchase shipping very I open to install because I need right away. Then found out it’s not the right one and no time to return so I improvise to use the lock that comes with it then it was working with my old pulls then 2-3 days after it come off again. So I’m in mix review because I did not use the pulley it self but I use the plastic lock. And of course I can’t return because it’s used. Anyway, I’m not sure mix feelingsRead more

Although the ad for this idler pulley for my Maytag dryer claims it is an exact fit – it is NOT. The hole in this pulley is too small. It is very difficult to force the new pulley (even with grease) onto the idler pulley bracket’s axle. And after struggling to finally get it on – it did not spin freely. There was a noticeable drag. Rather than risk another noisy pulley failure in the near future, I went ahead and ordered OEM parts from Appliance Parts Pros. The parts were more expensive – but still cheap compared to getting a repairman to fix it for me -, but worth it. It fit perfectly. And they have a great video showing how to install it. I’m not pleased with my purchase of the Blue Star idler pulley, but it was cheap enough (about $7) it was not worth the hassle to return it. My 2 cents worth – go with OEM parts for this dryer repair.Read more

Installed this and worked good for a few weeks only to have it separate at the steel and plastic section. Tried getting the company to send me another one but had no luck. After emailing back and forth for days I just ordered a different one from a different vendor and am still up and running.Read more
