Continuity test with multimeter confirmed this thermal fuse had no continuity, in my case on an Inglis brand dryer in Canada. This blown fuse is usually caused by overheating due to lint buildup in dryer exhaust port or duct. Use metal duct only, never plastic one, and keep your ducts clean. Once you know, it’s an easy and cheap fix. Beats calling a repairman or just figuring dryer is dead and needlessly buying a new one. The two-pack is a good idea, because as Scotty said on Star Trek, it’s good engineering practice to have redundancies, especially if you don’t have access to a Starfleet replicator.Read more

This product is a great value for the money. Our 12 yr old Whirlpool dryer suddenly stopped working during a very busy laundry day. We researched possible reasons why then decided to call a technician to actually diagnosed the problem. It took less than an 20 minutes to figure out it was the thermostat. After we were given an estimate of $300 to replace a part the company was selling for $20 we did some research with the part number and found this great deal. I was able to save hundreds of dollars and because the item is Prime we received it in 2 days. The part was easy to install and now our dryer is like a brand new dryer. Thanks for the tips on how to prevent our thermostat from burning out again.Read more

So glad there is an affordable option for fixing the whirlpool cabrio dryer when it stops working. We inherited this dryer when we bought our home nearly 3 1/2 years ago and it has stopped working three times now. So about once a year. After a search on YouTube we found that the thermal fuse was to blame and was an easy fix. Ordered these after my dryer broke down again and they came fast and work great. Unfortunately I’m sure I’ll need to use the second one about a year from now and then order another two pack but at least they are very affordable. Grateful I don’t have to pay lots of money to fix this problem.Read more

Super easy to install in 7 easy steps! NOTE: Not liable; you attempt this at your own risk. Only writing this as an aid, if you want to save yourself a little money. This process took me about 15 minutes from start to finish. 1.) Pull dryer out from wall, unplug unit from wall, remove dryer vent hose and clamp. Set aside. 2.) Remove the back cover of the dryer unit. Use either a flathead screwdriver or a 1/4″ hex nutdriver. Should have around 12 screws, put them in a cup so you don’t loose them. Set back cover aside. 3.) Locate thermal switch: bottom and left of center. It looks exactly like the item you are purchasing. 4.) Remove wires (on spade connectors) from both sides of the thermal switch. (Bend the wires back and away from switch so that you don’t get them backwards. Not that it matters as it’s only a fuse/switch, that I’m aware of). Note: If you are troubleshooting the dryer thermal switch to see if it is defective or not, you can use a multimeter, set to ohms or use the beep conitinuity function. If you get 0 (zero) ohms, OL (open), or no beep sound, the switch/fuse is defective. 5.) Remove mount screw (1 each) from thermal switch with a flathead screwdriver or 1/4″ hex nutdriver. Set screw aside. Discard the defective thermal switch. 6.) Install: reverse order, from step 5 back to step 1. 7.) Turn dryer on. Dryer should turn on. If it doesn’t make sure that you plugged unit back up to the wall. Note: I ran my dryer for 1 hour, empty (no clothes), and I checked on it about every 10 minutes, for good measure.Read more

Fit my Whirlpool dryer perfectly! Also learned a lesson – Clean your Dryer vent at least once a year. My vent was clogged – BADLY! Do not know when it was ever cleaned. Know for sure, I haven’t in the 3 years since I moved into this older 50’s home. From researching this problem, seems clogged dryer vent causes the dryer to overwork resulting in higher amperage leading to a blown thermal fuse!Read more

MY DRYER QUIT, AFTER CHECKING A FEW ITEMS THE DRYER WILL SIMPLY QUIT WHEN THIS PART FAILS. I PULLED THE DRYER AWAY FROM THE WALL. I REMOVED THE BACK AND BEGAN THE PROCESS OF REMOVING THE VENT LINT CATHER WHICH WAS FULL OF ‘STUFF’ CLEANED THAT OUT AND INSTALLED THE PART. PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER—PUT BACK IN PLACE. FILLED THE DRYER AND TURNED IT ON. I STOPPED IT TO SEE WHEN I OPENED IT UP IT WAS IF I OPENED A DOOR TO HELL—-IT WAS SO HOT I DIALED DOWN THE HEAT BECAUSE AS THIS LINT FILTER BOX FILLS UP IT REDUCES IN HEAT, SO CLEAN THAT AREA BELOW THE LINT SCREEN ONCE A YEAR. THIS IS AMAZING I BOUGHT A 2 PACK WHERE NEXT TIME I WON’T HAVE TO WAIT A DAY OR SO SINCE LOCAL BOX STORES DON’T CARRY THIS PART. I TRIED, YOU HAVE TO ORDER OUT FOR IT. hAVE A GOOD ONERead more

I used this product to replace a fuse in our Maytag dryer. The original part had “G4AP0500 TF 091C AZF2 3392519” stamped in black ink on it. The last set of digits is the actual part number. This new part does not include a part number on it. Other than that, it’s identical. We received two in an Amazon bubble mailer. They don’t weight very much, and the package felt empty! One was in a small plastic bag, and the other was loose. I installed the loose one, and saved the other in my electrical parts drawer in the garage. Works great! No reason to NOT give five stars.Read more

I went to start my dryer the other day like always, but this time when I pushed the START switch, nothing happened. Weird. I did a little research and after doing a continuity test, I discovered my thermal fuse had blown. Simple change out and I’m back in business! Final Verdict: It is what it is and it does what it does!Read more

I ordered this thermal fuse for our 14 year old Whirlpool dryer, to replace the fuse that had been blown out β€œdiy”! It took a bit longer time to read the blueprints, to locate the fuse but once we found it, the installation was a breeze! Very happy with the purchase!Read more
