Product works nice for me. Now I can plug in my keyboard and mouse in the front of my desk, while keeping the PC far away on the other end of the desk. And I didn’t have to drill into the desk or rely on crappy adhesive and it’s not in the way of my chair and doesn’t take up any extra space on the desk. Even with a 10 foot (and I tested a 15 foot cable as well) usb3.0 extension cable, the unit works well. I tested a usb 3.0 flash drive and usb3.0 SSD and both worked at the same speeds (with the included cable and using a 15/10 foot extension cable) compared to plugging them directly into the USB3.0 ports on the PC. But in regards to using extension cables, one usb port on the front of my PC had slowed speeds for some reason (while when using the included cable, speeds were normal), but those ports have added cabling that goes to the motherboard, so maybe that caused an issue (I’m not sure, just speculating) or something is different/wrong with that port. What didn’t work was trying to use a MyPassport HDD. Those drives apparently use all the amperage supplied by a USB3.0 port and since this hub doesn’t supply its own power, I believe it divides the 1 amp that the main port gets and divides them to 250mA for each port (because I tried just plugging in the HDD to see if it would get the full amperage and it didn’t). So if you are using an HDD with USB3.0 that isn’t powered separately, it won’t work or will transfers files very slowly (in my case). But SSDs/flash-drives use very little power and will have no problem with this. Also because that 1 amp is probably divided, using these for charging is not a good idea. Best to get a USB power adapter with QC and charge with that. 1 star off for not supplying full power to each USB 3.0 port.Read more

Bought this hub for my keyboard + mouse and a 1080p webcam, looks nice, attaches to my ikea desk if I remove the top of the screw part . Mouse & keyboard frequently lag while using this hub, and the webcam quality and fps is unusable. Tested on different ports, same result. I plugged the same devices into a Anker unpowered usb 3.0 hub I have and it all works great, so not an issue with this hub being unpowered.Read more

Beginning on the day I installed this, Windows Reliability Monitor recorded a daily hardware error (Live Kernel Event 144). It didn’t stop the computer from operating, but it was disturbing to have a hardware error every day. To confirm this device was the source, I removed it and sure enough, no more hardware errors reported in Reliability Monitor. Oddly, the silver version of this device (sold on Amazon with ULBRE as the brand instead of REKIDM) did NOT cause these errors. Although they appeared to be identical hardware except for the finish and brand name, they apparently were a little different – or the black finish one had a defect.Read more

I thought it COULD be an issue when I ordered this and my suspicions were correct. Here’s the deal… I wanted to install this on the short side edge of my home desk. I am working from home a good bit these days and I never seem to have enough USB ports between my personal phone, the work phone, the tablet, the usb charging ear buds, etc. But the edge of my desk and the antique-style filing cabinet that’s the same height that sits next to it both have routed edges (forgive my terminology, as some folks call it chamfered, but anyway, it’s a sloped overhanging edge that sticks out (guessing here) about .75 inches. The depth of the clamp on this device puts it clinging futilely to that sloped edge. It doesn’t have the depth to clamp onto the flat part at the top. So it will not work on either the desk or the filing cabinet. But, taking inspiration from the pics, I was able to mount it, fairly inconspicuously on the bottom of my monitor with the ports pointing out toward my keyboard. And it works! It’s handy, charges nicely and looks great on my black monitor. Very pleased thus far. Note, it doesn’t have the “fast” charging/smart charging ports, but I can charge my LG Velvet 5G which has a pretty nice sized battery in about 2 hours and 15 minutes from totally depleted. Again, not a fast charge, but it carries a charge and it works great.Read more

I have purchased this item in Silver then Black and both hold up well. ☆Suggestion- For those of us that don’t have Simple Monitor’s to use the built in clamp maybe you can create a Heavy Tape Stick-On 3m Tape (Not Velrow) [ I Personally had to Unscrew there Clamps in order to instead Secure/Attach them to in my case my All-In-One Computer Monitor with a High Strength Double Sided Tape] ☆☆By Adding 2 – 1″X2″ Super Strength Double Sided Tape Strips in ALL your Packages you should increase your sales on these items by at least 35-40% I would Guess.Read more

Functionally this USB hub was perfect for clamping to the side of my desk and connecting low-power items. However, I really wish they made a version that was powered because it is incredibly hit or miss with any kind of wireless dongle. I was hoping to use this to plug in my headset dongle or my xbox controller adapter but it turns out that the hub doesn’t have enough power to reliably connect either of those devices.Read more

It sits perfectly clamped to a side of my desk at the back within reach but not in the way. I think we all probably have needs for different charging cord ends because of numerous styles for brands of devices. I just plugged in the 4 of my most used chargers and left them there, easy to attach for a charge. There’s nothing for my cats to knock off my desk because the clip is tightened to suit my desk top. The cats may play with the cords, although they are pretty short and most of the time the cats lose interest. It did come with 4 short cords which was very nice but not all the cord end styles fit the numerous devices I think we all own. I’d buy it again if my bedside table had a lip to attach it to.Read more
