As a youtuber I go through a lot of microphones of various types. This one in particular is a whole kit that is a complete, ready to go package as long as you have a computer with an available USB 2 or 3 port available to plug into. In the kit you get the scissor arm for the mic, the clamp for the arm, a shock mount to hold the mic, a windscreen, a pop filter, a USB cable that comes with a ferrite core installed in it and of course you get the microphone itself as well. It is indeed a plug and play setup where I did not need to install any software or drivers. I plugged it in and it worked. But I do need to mention that it runs very loud and is by default at 100% volume in the microphone settings. Set this to around 50% and you should be fine. This will help reduce the tons of background noise you will get otherwise. Remember that this is a condenser microphone and not a dynamic, so it does require the USB port for power and it will be more sensitive than a dynamic mic, so you will pick up background noises a bit easier. This is not the fault of the microphone or of its quality, that’s just how condenser mics work, use it in a soundproofed environment for the best effect. Lets go over the good and the bad, here’s what I noticed when testing it out so far. PROS: 1. Good build quality – an all metal construction does say a lot for this mic set. It has a good build quality and seems like it will survive some travel, the arm is also metal and feels pretty sturdy. 2. Complete kit – Everything you need in one place, even pop filter and windscreen, that was a nice touch. 3. Warm tone – It seems to come out with a nicer warm tone. I tend to enjoy using compression and equalization to get a certain sound from mics, this is closer to what I aim for by default, so that was nice. 4. Easy to setup – It took me all of 1 minute to set the whole thing up, I installed the arm, attached the mic, plugged it in and I was good to go. CONS: 1. Already condensed audio – It sounded to me like there was some digital condensing happening behind the scenes that I didnt add in myself. It ended up making it a tiny bit harsher than I would have preferred, it still sounds pretty nice though so its not that big a deal, just wanted to make you all aware of it. Suggestions: It would be pretty nifty if there were some sort of carrying bag included for taking this on the go to have an all in one recording setup with you on the go. It would just be nice to be able to podcast with a full setup if I cant get to my house. Just a fun thought. Would I suggest this and to who? Yes I Would suggest this, I would say youtubers and podcasters alike should check this out. This is a good kit for starting out with until you eventually start to upgrade your gear piece by piece. It works well and feels like it will last.Read more

If you’re looking to upgrade your recording setup and don’t want to mess with picking out all the different parts you’ll need, this is a great kit for a decent price! You’ll get: – USB Microphone – Shock Mount – Scissor Stand w/ Vice Clamp Mount – Foam Wind Sock Cover – 2-Layer Pop Filter – 10 foot (3 meter) USB Cable That’s everything you need to record podcasts, videos, livestreams, or whatever your recording needs are in one package. Everything you hear in this video was recorded on the Maono AU-A04 USB Condenser Microphone Studio Kit. It’s super easy to setup and sounds just as good as my Audio-Technica AT2020 microphone / Behringer U-Phoria UM2 setup for a fraction of the cost! I highly recommend this setup!Read more

It’s plug and play, you don’t need a separate power supply. The sound quality is way better than a lapel mic. It’s a solid mic, I’m new to video blogging and video editing so it’s a good beginner mic or if you are on a budget. I’ve done a couple of projects with it and so far no problems.Read more

I don’t normally give out 5 star ratings, however my reasoning behind giving the Maono Studio Mic Set a 5/5 stars is based on the performance vs price. Most super high quality Studio Mic Sets can range from $200-$1,000. So this mic set definitely falls into the budget Studio Mic Set category. With that being said, your expectations need to be realistic. You can’t expect this to compare to a $500 mic set. However, for the price of $58 (Which is what I paid), this mic set is pretty fantastic. What I LIke: – Sound quality was nice – Easy to set up – Quick connection to my computer – Decent material for durability What I didn’t Like: – More maneuverability with mic head. It was adjustable, but I wanted to tweak it a bit more easily, (Not a big deal) Overall/Recommendation: If you are looking for a budget Studio Mic Set, this is definitely a solid option. Just remember to be realistic with expectations. I will be using this mic set for quite some time.Read more

Let’s make this quick! Watch my video above to hear the actual audio from this great mic! Pros: •Plug & Play •Clean Audio •Easy Setup •Price(for everything you get) Cons: •Boom Arm a little finicky(not terrible though) •Some parts feel cheaply made(but given the price point still a great deal) Overall: I believe this a great buy especially if you’re wanting a complete set whether it’s for podcasting, gaming,or you just want a more professional sound. Like I said some parts feel cheap, but the mic sounds great!Read more

Just plugging it in and testing it was very worrying. But after tweaking some settings (on OBS) its actually well worth $50. If installed correctly, the arm, cable and shock mount are sturdy.Read more
