This comes with no manual or instructions or heat sink. Important to know: It works with older SATA SSDs only, More modern NVMe SSDs WILL NOT WORK. There is no heatsink – just a plastic case screwed to the circuit board- heat dissipation is poor and components will overheat and you can burn yourself if you touch the back of the circuit board. The new item comes neatly wrapped, but with no instructions. The housing and circuit board are clipped together and must be pried apart to access a packet of tiny screws inside. The circuit board is keyed with just one notch, so it will accept any M.2 device, but will not work with NVMe – only SATA.Read more

The reason why I gave one star but everything else 5 star was for a very bad defect in the product. I noticed when I plugged it in, my computer didn’t recognize it. I thought maybe it wasn’t seating correctly in the pins. It got extremely hot to the point when I touched it, it made a burn mark on my pointer finger. I then tried my drive on another adapter I have and it was destroyed. Samsung 980 isn’t cheap and now it is garbage. Maybe it was the one I purchased as a defect. I do not know but the one I received wasn’t a blessing but a painful nightmare.Read more

I felt the case after a couple days and it was very hot. I removed it and put it back in, and now it does not recognized the drive…any drive. 🙁 I put my drive in another of a different brand and it works find, and does not overheat. :-)Read more

I ordered a set of two. One didn’t come with any screws. The nvme slot is backwards, so M keys are upside down. Also they put the embedded nut upside down (to hold the m.2 drive in place). When plugged into my PC, it is not recognized. This product sucks and I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.Read more
