An RV neighbor recommended this product to me. I had mentioned a concern about mold growing on the inside of my RV windows from moisture building up on cold nights (from gas heat, propane cooking inside, showers, and breathing). I spent about 6 hours researching dehumidifiers, because I had no clue how they worked or what I needed. Space is limited in a 35 foot RV and I thought a small humidifier would work fine. Many of those small ones only gather 20 oz or 2 cups of water a day. I purchased the VacPlus because I can program it to shut off at 40% humidity and it will shut off if the water chamber is full. I empty the water out every 12 hours and I am averaging removing 10 cups of water in a 24 hour period of time. I was shocked. I am at a RV Resort in Southern Ca on the water. It has been raining a ton and been very humid. After two morning showers, I hung the towels up and put the dehumidifier on high in the bathroom. It really does dry out the towels and the shower. Typically, I keep it in the living room/kitchen area set to low the most. Humidity has been 70 to 90% outside and I am 52% inside with the VacPlus on. If my electric heat comes on, it drops down to 40%. When the sun comes up, I open the windows and turn it off. I am very noise sensitive and the low setting in the living room does not bother me while sleeping in the bedroom. I hope this review helps other RV people. I am very impressed and will recommend to all my RV friends and groups.Read more

Only had this for a week and so far it really does pull out lots of moisture from the air. It does not surprise me as it is a self contained refrigerant split system with evaporator coil, condenser coil, and compressor. I do not use the hose, so I have to empty out the container once a night which goes to show how much water is being pulled out. My bathroom used to stay at around 74 degrees and 58 to 62% RH, now it stays around 76 and 35% RH. Notice it’s a bit warmer. The only drawback is that the condenser coil heat used to reheat the cold air coming off the evaporator coil back to the room temp sometimes is too much, and since my AC sensor isn’t in the bathroom and the bathroom is small, the heat coming off the condenser coil is usually too much for the room and causes the room temp to get a little warmer than the rest of the house. I don’t mind it because I like it to be warm in the morning and prefer that to mold growth. Just an observation I thought I’d share. Also, I noticed the sensor on the unit never matches my hygrometer in the bathroom. It is usually 6%RH difference, but the room hygrometer always displays the room as being drier than the sensor on the unit which is good. Hope this helps.Read more

Product details are bogus. Claim up to 30 pints of water per day, which is 3.75 gallons per day. I have had it running on CO (constant operation) setting for three days straight. I have emptied tank three times, every time tank less than 1/2 full. Tank is 1350 ml, which means it has has removed about 675 ml three times, or just over 1/2 gallon of water total. Over three days. In an 800 square foot apartment. It is rated for 1500 square feet. Which means it is working at about 4.4% efficiency. I will definitely be returning this.Read more

This dehumidifier is excellent. It is more compact than other dehumidifiers I’ve had in the past, however, it is much more powerful and operates much, much quieter. I use this in my 1100 square foot basement and it works perfectly at keeping the humidity at the correct level. The unit is very easy to operate and move around. Having the auto shut off and drainage modes are a plus. I also like the built in timer if I just want to run the unit for a couple hours before having people over. I highly recommend this unit!Read more

This dehumidifier says it comes with an “Automatic Continuous Drainage” feature, which is displayed in the product’s title and description. I ran a condensation hose from the unit, through the floor (existing cable line hole), through the crawlspace and out of the side of my house. I hung the hose with proper slope for adequate drainage. After hours of running the unit with the hose hooked up it only sent a few drops of water down the hose, while simultaneously filling the small water tank. After inspection I found water drips through cracks in the top of the tank compartment rather than the drain line spout. There is no way to efficiently use this product with a condensation hose if the product design is flawed. After crawling under the crawlspace to hang a condensation line I am still having to empty the tank a few times a day. My wife bought this dehumidifier on Prime Day because it was inexpensive with overwhelmingly good reviews. You get what you pay for. I’m going to buy something better than this and if you want to avoid a headache I’d recommend you keep looking. I am returning this product.Read more

Was pleased with the size/weight/color/shape as soon as I took it out of the box. I’m no stranger to de-humidifiers; in my experience they’ve always been large, ugly, heavy, ungainly, and very loud. This unit is small and light-weight enough that I can put it atop a small chest in the center of my basement. This allows me to put it where it works most effectively without it taking over the space entirely like a larger unit would. It’s steady enough to turn on it’s wheels without fear of tipping or rolling off. While it’s certainly not silent, it’s the quietest compressor-based de-humidifier I’ve heard. We’re able to watch TV and have conversations across the room without a problem while it’s running on high. The exhaust being on top, with an adjustable flap to direct the flow is another nice feature. I only have two improvements I could suggest offhand. First would be to provide a longer, more durable drain tube. Unless you can place the unit somewhere where the drain is only a meter or so away, you’ll have to buy a longer hose. It was also mildly kinked, which could become a problem after a while since the hose walls are also thin. Second would be to prevent the beeping alarm from going off while emptying the tank. That, or provide a toggle for it. Non-issues though really. Very happy with this purchase.Read more

In our basement apartment I previously had a For Living 30 pint dehumidifier , which had a large bin full twice per day. It worked great to make the space feel warm and dry, but was noisy and rattled bothering people who were trying to sleep at night. When it failed I looked for a similar but quieter unit with the same specs, and found the Vacuplus 30 on-line. The Vacuplus 30 has been running for a week now in the same space, and so I want to tell you how it is working. The Vacuplus is a smaller unit and much quieter, making just a gentle hum, but is not keeping the space very warm and dry. It is not pulling the same amount of water out of the air. The water bin is 1/2 the size of the For Living unit we had before, and the bin is not even full once a day. I am debating about getting another one, or putting small electric heaters down there instead. So you need to decide whether quiet is more important or efficiency is more important! The Vacuplus is not very efficient.Read more
