   Review of: ValuMeds Max Strength Gas Relief for Adults, 70 Softgels, 250mg Simethicone After using these softgels a number of times over the last week, I’ve become a fan of them. Normally, I go to a discount store to by generic version of simethicone tablets and that works okay but since many times those round, chalky tasting tablets only contain around 80mg of simethicone I find that I have to take one, two or sometimes even 3 tablets to get the relief I want. The ValuMeds variety, according to the label, contains 250mg of simethicone in each softgel and, especially depending on what I had eaten earlier, I find that level of simethicone to be the level I want. Beyond that, I like the size of the softgels, even more so when I compare them to the 3 larger sized flat shaped tablets I would have to take to get the same amount of active ingredient. Each softgel, to my eye, looks to be about, roughly half the size of the tablets I’ve taken in the past and very easy to swallow. And, unlike the sometimes dry, chalky tablets, I’ve found that the softgels has no noticeable taste to them; a nice plus for me. So, for those times when I’ve had a meal or a snack that had more ‘results’ than I anticipated and I need the higher level of simethicone, the ValuMeds softgels will be the product I reach for.    I got this because I wanted something to reduce passing gas. (Can I say “farting”?) It actually *increases* it because its real purpose is to relieve bloating, etc., which it does by passing gas more readily. When that happened, I came back and read the description more closely and discovered my mistake. While it doesn’t do what I had hoped for, I can say that it does work on reducing gas build up.Read more

   This is a standard simethicone formulation that provides a pretty high dose (250mg) per soft cap. As such, it’s comparable to the per cap dosage level of some brand names, such as Phazyme but at a much lower price. This 70 cap bottle is priced about the same as a 36 cap bottle of Phazyme. But, while it’s a good value compared with the brand name, it’s not an especially strong value compared with other generics. While some of the generics have a lower potency per cap, you could take 2 of them and pay less per dose than 1 of these caps. The caps are reasonably sized and easy to swallow. The bottle I received in Feb 2022 has an expiration date of May 2023, so the shelf life is pretty good. Since these are soft gel caps, it’s important to keep them away from humidity since they will stick together in the bottle under humid conditions. These are made in India. While the less than ideal value puts my rating at 4 stars, these are worth considering if you need a high dose in a single cap.Read more

   These seem to work well and are the generic equivalent to Gas-X and Phazyme. This extra strength formulation comes out to a little cheaper than the name brand ($11.99 here compared to $13.29 at Walmart for Gas-X) and does the exact same thing. These are made in India, which is pretty common for low cost generics. The bottle came sealed and in date (with an expiration of 05/2023). The ValuMeds brand is sold in drug stores and discount retailers, so I am not worried about quality. Overall, these seem to be a good value for the price.Read more

   ValuMeds Max Strength Gas Relief for Adults, 70 Softgels, 250mg Simethicone, These small gel capsules are perfect when you have an upset stomach. They provide fast relief for gas and you can take ONE capsule up to 4 times per day. They also provide some relief from gas when you have diarrhea. I know, not a pleasant subject, but when the flu hits, you will be glad to have these on your shelf. These are probably a good idea to have these on hand over the holidays as well when overindulging. I love these are extra strength and you only need one.Read more

   I’m an ibs-c sufferer and deal with bloating and gas on a regular basis. I generally keep a chewable off brand containing the same active ingredient as this medication. This however is a much more convenient way to take this medication as I only need 1 pill rather than chewing 3 tablets. It is easy to swallow and works like it should. Price wise this is less expensive than the name brand products here on Amazon however compared to the brand I normally buy it is a few dollars more.Read more

   Now this is a real deal. I use maximum strength simethicone for gas and maximum is considered 125 mg so these 250 mg softgels must be considered ultra maximum strength. The bottle will last a long time for you only need to take one at a time. You get a high dose of simethicone for gas/bloating and it works great. The softgel form makes it very easy to take.
