This product comes with a plastic backing, which has to be removed so expose the sticky surface which will be attached to a wall, desk, or any flat surface. In the old days, the plastic backing extended beyond the edge of the velcro so it could be easily removed. Not so with this stuff. It is exactly the same width as the velcro, and it’s practically impossible to remove the backing. Yes, it’s two years old, but I have some older stuff where the backing is appropriately sized, and it works fine. So…you have nothing but time on your hands, and enjoy picking at nearly invisible objects, you’ll love this. As for me, I’m going to toss it out as soon as I can find some velcro which is actually usable. I give it one star only because I can’t give it zero.Read more

Is what I was looking for, both sides (hook and loop tapes) of Velcro with adhesive backing on both, for permanent, temporary or removable mounting of frames, LED nightlights, remote control units on walls, whatever. Seems to work well, but there are two caveats: 1. The more important one is that, depending on the surface you stick the adhesive part to, the Velcro adhesion may be stronger than that of the adhesive, so when you try to take it out, the adhesive may come off before the Velcro. So you may need to supplement the adhesive with something else (stiching, nails, stronger adhesive, etc., depending on the surface in question). 2. Minor point, but the transparent plastic backing covering the adhesive is a real pain to get to separate from the Velcro strip; I was attacking it with the edge of a fingernail for a good minute. Could be annoying if you’re doing many of these.Read more

I bought this to hide a Raspberry PI to the back of a TV, but also figured I could use it to mount a USB hub and some power bricks to the bottom of my desk. Everything seemed to be great for about a month, but the USB hub started to fall down daily. The velcro holds strong, but the sticky bit can’t support any kind of weight. The box claims it will hold up to 5 lbs, but today I noticed the RaspberryPI was also falling off the TV it was affixed to. I implore you to look for a product from another company. This is garbage.Read more

Pretty much, all of it was used for one of my projects. The issue here is that the adhesive is not the strongest. I cut the roll in many small pieces, so I could later stick them to my ziplock bags and plastic sheets. That way they can be easily detachable. I realized later that this thing doesn’t stick for long. If you happen to removed them to change them from their place, you’ll see that the adhesive will lose its stickiness. Because of that if you detach the velcro, the whole thing will most likely come off as well. As a result, you will end up with a product with very poor adhesion. My permanent solution to that problem was to use super glue. An extreme step, but it works for long term use. The velcro part itself is not the strongest either, but for my purposes, this is not an issue since I detach them every time I need to use my bags. Just keep that in mind if you think about hanging something heavier onto it. Also, you have to consider that I use them very often, therefore, they experience constant wear. In other words, I used them more aggressively, which probably they were not designed for. Finally, if I had to do it again, I would probably consider other options and try other brands. I think this is good for light purposes, but I wouldn’t expect more from it.Read more

I hang vintage Asian textiles over doorways and windows. One new window is framed in Hardie Plank and I could not get push pins to stick in, which is what I’m able to use at the doors and windows with original wood framing. I bought this Velcro strip and it worked fairly well. The sticky side stuck to the window frame perfectly. However, although the sticky side seemed to stick to the textile, and I mounted it on the window frame, it fell down. I thought at first my cat had pulled it down but I discovered that the glue did not hold onto the fabric. I sewed it to the fabric, using light weight thread and long stitches. It has held up now for several days so I think the problem is solved. This package was more than enough for the project and I will save the remainder.Read more

Works great, and it has a million uses. I use it to “dock” my smartphone to my dashboard, and have a station set up on the side of my coffee table to attach all my remote controls. I even hung a couple pictures with it. I have had no issues with the adhesive or velcro mechanism failing. I am certainly buying more when I run out. Just be mindful of which side you would prefer the fuzzy half, and which should be the rough half. It makes a difference for comfort and utility purposes; for example, I have the soft fuzzy half on the back of my phone case and the rough half stuck to my dashboard in my vehicle. The phone is more comfortable to hold (not a big deal), and the velcro won’t bind to lint in my pocket, etc…Read more

For whatever reason whether poor storage, old product, poor quality control, or maybe some mix of these, the plastic backing is completely bonded to the adhesive backing. I don’t mean to say it’s difficult to remove. If the backing came off easily, it’d still be tricky to grab a hold of the thinner than paper plastic backing to peel. I mean to say that–even once you have a sizeable tab of plastic to pull–you need so much force to separate the backing from the velcro that there are only a couple of outcomes: you tear the velcro, you tear the plastic backing and have to start over, or you pull all the adhesive off the velcro and onto your fingers or the plastic backing. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a non-handmade product with this big of a design issue, but ESPECIALLY not a name brand like Velcro. If I could get that adhesive to stick where I need it instead of to the plastic backing, it’d probably do a great job. Unfortunately is seems like I may never know.Read more

Okay first of all. WHAT A PRODUCT. I cannot speak highly enough about VELCRO Brand Sticky Back. Not only did this product arrive quickly (considering how much I purchased) but the quality and sheer adhesive strength of is just second to none. It turns out that if you sew a boat load of this stuff into your clothing, apply enough of it around the house and throw a few trampolines in the middle of the living room, you’ve got one heck of an afternoon! It’s unreal. Really fun. UPDATE: My battery is running low. My phone is about to die. I’m also very light headed. Somehow I have managed to become too stuck to the ceiling. If anyone is reading this, please contact the OPP in Southern Ontario. Tell my family that I love them. At least I will die with the comfort of knowing how incredible this product is and the powerful bond we now share.Read more

Purchased this because thinking it was Velcro brand it was of the same quality as other Velcro products. The adhesive side is absolutely terrible and start to peel off weekly for what I use it for with the other Velcro product I used before held up for at least 4-6 months. It has been 3 weeks use this product and I have replaced it twice already. Just threw over 3/4’s of it in the garbage and going back to the one I used to use. Terrible quality for the money, I am not sure where all these positive reviews come from but buyer beware.Read more

The cheap plastic clips that held the valance on my blinds broke and after weeks of trying to find replacements in my local hardware store and not wanting to pay some of the absurd fees for clips that will surely break again, I decided to search for alternative solutions. This Velcro tape works perfectly! Very easy to cut into strips, peeling the back off was a bit frustrating at times, but eventually got it, and even easier to apply to my blinds. Now I can remove the valance easily and replace just as quickly. I’m actually very happy that the clips didn’t work out as this is a much better solution, and I don’t see the cheap plastic tips on the top and bottom where it holds the valance. The 5 feet of Velcro tape was more than enough to cover 8 of my windows and have 1/2 the roll left over. Just need to find some other creative uses for this stuff. Pros: – easy to cut and apply – strong bond Cons: – would be even better if a clear version was availableRead more

I bought dollar store velcro – sucks. This velcro is worth it. *For those of you who are wondering: this package comes with both the hard (hook) and soft (loop) sides of velcro rolled into one roll. One roll of hook AND one roll of loop sides of velcro each.Read more

This was defective. It must have gotten too hot at one time. The clear plastic backing that protects the adhesive was impossible to remove. the Velcro itself functioned fine but if you cant get the tape off the back it renders it useless. I did not return as I had already cut numerous strips from the product. Ended up hot gluing the strips to make them stick.Read more
