DONT BUY. So I’m pretty disappointed in this product. First off I am a veterinarian and I recommend this product and this company to my clients, but boy this product must have changed or this is a bad batch. My Golden’s ears blew up after using this and we have previously used it. Please see the photo, he has allergies which make his ears gunky so we clean them regularly but they are never inflamed just dirty. NOW after using this product, they are markedly red, thickened, and itchy. I have had to give him antihistamines to combat the itch and keep him mildly sedate because he is extremely irritated and constantly shaking his head!Read more

Make sure to consult a vet before using this. So I learned from a vet how to properly use this, the dog needs to be sitting and someone else needs to hold the dogs head still because when you put this in the ear, the dog will shake its head. Make sure to flood the ear canal fully with this ear wash, then massage the lower ear canal to loosen up any wax and debris that’s in the ear, the tilt the head to drain the ear, and REPEAT one more time and flood the ear canal to get the loose stuff out even more. Don’t be afraid to fill the canal, unless the dogs middle ear wall is torn. This stuff really works and it’s not toxic or dangerous for the ear.Read more

Easy to use and worked great for cleaning my Golden’s ears. He had an infection that got bad so I got an antibiotic solution from the pricey vet. Well a few weeks after we finished using the antibiotics, his ears were acting up and had black gunk in them again. I refused to go back to the pricey vet and did research on how to treat at home. This solution was recommended amongst ear wipes and it really worked! He isn’t shaking his ears anymore and no more black gunk! He’s had a checkup for vaccinations at the vet since and they said his ears are looking great! Totally recommend.Read more

I have two dogs, one who is lucky enough to not have any ear issues but still needs occasional cleanings, and one who has suffered from constantly recurring ear infections her whole life. I use this on both, but it’s used most frequently on the latter. This cleaner works phenomenally. I use this most frequently when my dog gets ear infections, where I have to clean the ear and then an hour later put ear drops in to treat the infection. She does NOT enjoy getting her ears cleaned and definitely fights it, which is unfortunate, but I don’t believe that to be the fault of the cleaner as she has reacted the same to Zymox in the past. The only thing I dislike about this cleaner is that there’s alcohol in it (but I understand why it’s there), as my dog scratches her ears and often creates wounds by the time we are able to get ear drops, so the alcohol obviously burns and hurts. It’s really important to flood the ear canal and massage the base of the ear to work the cleaner through and get the debris out of the ear! When you’re done, wipe the ear flap with a towel to remove any debris that’s come out during the cleaning. Your dog will definitely shake after you’re done, so when you’re done cleaning, let go and stand back so they can take off and shake!Read more

I have a cat who was getting reoccurring ear infections which would require a trip to the vet to get cleared up. Using this weekly has kept my cat away from the vet for several years now. I used it on my dogs as well. I have a weekly reminder set up on my computer calendar so I don’t forget. Highly recommend this.Read more

Virbac Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser is a gentle but effective ear cleaner. I have used this for years on my dogs and am quite happy with it. I saturate a cotton ball and squeeze the excess into their ears and then use the cotton ball to clean the inside of the flaps. Four years ago, I got a rescue dog who had severe ear infections along with other ailments. She had multiple treatments and her vet recommended regular treatment with Virbac Epi-Otic. I was already using it on my other dogs but didn’t realize that it had a drying agent in it. I now use it after their baths just in case some water gets into their ears during the bath. Virbac Epi-Otic Advanced Ear Cleanser is non-irritating and easy to use. Our vets regularly compliment the condition of my dog’s ears.Read more

A must for floppy ear dogs. This was originally recommended and purchased through prescription but a prescription is not necessary and cheaper here than at the vet. This is the only brand I trust to clean my dog’s ears. Just a few drops in the ear canal and then massage the outside and dab away the excess. It does have a slight vinegar smell, but it’s not bothersome to me or her. Though she’s not a fan of getting her ears cleaned (which I do about once a week). The salicylic acid is a must to keep yeasty ears at bay. There is another version of this cleaner without salicylic acid but I would recommend this one as it’s needed to keep the yeast from attaching to the sink.Read more

I usually buy ear solution from the vet but I wanted to try a cost effective cleaner. The smell of the solution in my opinion is not pleasant… More chemical than fresh and clean….however it does the job. My dog gets build up from allergies so his ears get cleaned weekly. The vet okayed the ingredients for him and we have had no issues at all. I squirt in his ear, rub his ears and he will shake his head. I use a cotton ball to wipe it out. I really like that the goop way in his ear will start coming forward and I can get that the next day. I wish it smelled pleasant thoughRead more

I’ve used this on my dog in the USA too but the scent is a bit different. Still it smells good to humans; not sure how dogs feel about it though. My dog’s ears are always itchy from severe allergies. So I routinely clean his ears at least once a week. This Virbac Epi-otic Cleaner IS as easy to use as other brands. And to be fair, I could have given “Easy to use” 5 Stars but I hope the company might consider, including a device of some kind, to be able to WARM THE SOLUTION, before instilling it into dogs’ ears. If you’ve ever had your ear canals filled with cool/cold fluid, it’s a real shock. Running the entire bottle under hot water may be an option, but since we don’t know if this will affect the chemicals, it’s a toss-up. My Vet recommends squeezing 2 or 3 squirts directly into the ear canal, rubbing just below the ear, (in line with the dog’s eye) then using a cotton ball to extract the remainder of the fluid. He said, this is the only way to get deep wax & dirt loosened. And the dog will shake its head to get the rest of the fluid out. So far, this has worked with this solution. Would buy again; do like the gentle scent.Read more

Our vet actually recommended this product as our dog is prone to wax build up and ear inflammation. Causing him to over shake his head and scratch at his ears. We apply it to a couple of cotton pads, and gently stroke the round his ears, allowing any excess liquid to go into the ear. You can use it directly as an ear cleaner, however we try to avoid squirting it straight into our boys ears as he gets very distressed by it, and shakes his head even more. As well as cleaning his ears nicely, it smells nice too which is a big bonus. It really is good value for money.Read more
