I use these and a straight pair (from Home Depot) to prune my plants and especially, wet trim my Flower… and I always find myself going to these over the others. The curved tip makes it super easy to get in there and snipped tiny bits, like sugar leaves. They are very precise. I couldnt imagine trimming/ pruning without these. They are sharp and hold up to quite a bit of abuse. Like all my other pruners, I completley removed the little plastic lock; as they sometimes lock themselves when you close them during a cut! The spring in them is strong enough to always return them to the open position quick and snappy. Im not sure how much the “coating” (gold finish) helps? I find that I have to clean them of sticky residue as often as any other tool, it may help with the smoothness of shearing though? PROS: Very smooth cutting action Built to last Very durable Sharp Strong Snappy Spring Very accurate (curved tip keeps it tight) High quality material/ Build Lightweight Ergonomic CONS: sometimes lock themselves when in closed position (I just removed the lock; problem solved) If you found my review helpful – it would be much appreciated if you pass that help along and kindly click the found “helpful” button. These worked for about 4 hours then, like others have said, they just fold over the stem or leaf or whatever you are trimming. They have a serious alignment problem with the blade tips. One blade will over extend the other in an attempt to trim. I think they were designed like this as it seems it would help them make a better cut but it absolutely doesnt. I have 2 pairs of the orange handled brand one pair plain steel and the other pair with gold coating like these. Even being years old they cut better than these. I dont recommend these at all. Spend a little more and get something that actually cuts. I have no clue how some of the items on Amazon gets the overall ratings they do? Must be passing a lot of freebies out or something.Read more

Update: Been using these for about a month & a half… still love them! I’ve pruned my 13 tomato plants for hours and hours, and these babies are still sharp and working as well as they did on day 1! I even used them yesterday to cut the stalk/stem of my sunflowers. (They were about 6 feet tall- so not the biggest ever, but pretty thick regardless. I know I should’ve used something else, heaven help my impatience.) They worked great, didn’t shred the stem and I didn’t ruin them! I’m back for more so I can always have one sterilized. Original Review: So I’m a poor, backyard gardener. I’ve been using regular scissors since I misplaced my little shears. These are SO nice. I had a second wrist surgery last month and I’m still trying to get strength back & recover. These are perfect! So easy to hold & use, even with my weaker hand! I used them for a good hour today to prune tomatoes with no problem, stayed sharp and cut perfectly. I’ll definitely get more if (when?) I misplace these.Read more

“Titanium coated” means exactly nothing as these trimmers can only bend leaves and stems after a single use with proper cleaning and storage. In a pinch, I resorted to the mini scissors on my Victorinox knife which remain sharp as razors after 20 years of use… that’s what real stainless steel from a quality company will get you. These VivoSun junkers are yet another example of woefully cheap junk that have flooded Amazon recently, and I’m sick and tired of being ripped off. DO NOT BUY!Read more

Item description states that these are titanium coated nonstick blades, but I cannot see anywhere on the packaging I received that says anything about titanium or nonstick. All I see is stainless steal reading every single word on the front and back of the package. Oddly Fiskars and most other brands I’ve ever seen when titanium is involved it’s on the packaging and written on the blade as it’s not cheap. I do not believe these are titanium coated and feel this is false advertising. They were cheap, so I guess I won’t return them, but lesson learned, cheap scissor are cheap scissors. As someone who uses scissor for 6-10 hours nonstop in a day from time to time I must also say these aren’t as comfy as fiskars. They are more squared which leads to a numb thumb after prolonged use, and also seem to have a higher tension spring that’s harder to squeeze, also leading to fatigue. Best pair I’ve had to date was Fiskars special ergonomic anti arthritis shaped scissors, but of course those disappeared. If your just using them for a short time, these aren’t bad, if you’re a trimmer who spends hours a day trimming, I’d spend the extra (even though it’s almost triple), and get actual nonstick titanium, with a far more comfortable handle. No I’m not 120 years old, it’s just after 8 hours these things make your hand sore, Fiskars don’t. When I asked about them not saying titanium, I got some BS answer from the vendor.Read more

These are the tiniest garden clippers I have ever seen. Probably fine for snipping off dead marigold flowers, but they don’t do much more than that! Beware of the size before you order these – these will NOT cut anything that resembles a wood stem, including roses.Read more

The screw is too short, its threads do not engage with the nylon locking part of the nut which causes them to loosen themselves up. I have to stop and tighten the screw every ten minutes. The locking mechanism takes a lot of fiddling with to latch. For the time wasted I would have been better off buying fiskars. Update: I used a drop of high strength permanent red loctite and so far they have not loosened up again. This is an easy fix however I don’t expect every buyer to have this product or should have to buy it just to fix a slightly too short screw problem…Vivosun, if you read this, let the manufacturer know asap and possibly get some longer screws to send with the snips….Read more

To avoid disappointment, don’t buy these. The “precision blades” are as precise as a sledgehammer. It would help if both blades followed the same curve and had some kind of a tip, maybe an edge or two? Completely useless and a waste of time and money. I would return them, but it’s going to cost half as much as they cost to do so. Buy something else.Read more

I saw Vivosun products and seems like a good quality company. I bought a few things from them but these shears are good for single use. I trimmed my first plant and I immediatly noticed that much force was needed for cutting something as simple as a fan leaf. After I was all done I cleaned the shears using Isopropyl 99% and stored them on my indoor grow room (22C with 45% RH), no rust or nothing but can’t cut bud branches and they tear fan leaves, so using my nails I get a cleaner cut. Nope I don’t suggest these shears.Read more

I have to submit a comment on these. When you get them and see the package, you’re like come on, I got duped. Because the package looks like it can straight from the dollar store. But these things are actually great. Sturdy. And sharp. I was pleasantly surprised.Read more

i got these to replace my miracle gro pair. they worked great but i used them to snip one too many large branches i think. i came online to buy another pair and i found these at half the price of my old pair. these work just as well, the spring is tight, the lock works well and they snip things perfectly as my old pair. if i had to complain, i dont feel the pics properly illustrate the curve in these. if holding in your hand they curve to the left or right, my old pair were straight so these are a bit strange. i was aware that these were curved from the description, but not exactly how. either way it doesnt make a difference to the plants.Read more

Like someone else mentionned, I received a pruning shear that doesn’t cut, be that thin flexible stem or harder (thicker) ones, the blades are dull, I’ve trying cutting closer to the handles but still it just won’t cut anything. I can’t return so I can only warn you guys reading this, hope you don’t get scr**wed like I was. Read more
