My 6 year old daughter asked for a dj mixer, so she can make music like Marshmello, for Christmas. It literally just arrived. And I have been messing with it for a minute and it’s really cool! When I ordered this in November it said it wouldn’t get here u til mid January! But that was a risk I was willing to take after seeing what was available in stores and online. Most other dj tables for kids are either more for toddler or you need to buy more stuff to go with it. This has Bluetooth so it is optional but she probably won’t be using that just yet. I also wasn’t paying triple the price on ebay. So I bit the bullet and kept hoping it would be here in time. After seeing it, and playing with it, I would have waited for shipping and not been upset. The quality is good. The adjustments all work. It sounds great! Not to mention the lights are going to go great with her led color changing lights in her room. I just know she’s going to love it! If your child is kindergarten and up and shows interest in something like this, this would be the product you want!Read more

This is the funnest toy we’ve had in a long time. I got this for my 6 year old’s birthday and I must say, even though he and his 7 year old brother love it, I’ve spent some quality time on it myself while the kids were playing outside. The mixer has 15 different basic samples to choose from and then 15 different layering options per sample. There are also 5 additional “party” sounds per sample and an optional vocal track. You can adjust the tempo to a “slow jam” all the way up to a high energy break beat. There is a scratch wheel that also has 5 different scratch settings. The toy also lets you record your tracks to play back later. There’s also an “academy” feature setting which is basically a Simon Says game designed to help you learn different beat layering techniques. I love this toy, but here are my pros and cons: Pros: -easy for age 6 and up to make tracks that sound good and give them confidence – hundreds of beat combination possibilities – genuinely decent sounding samples for kids – good variety of music styles from hip hop to dance -can record tracks for playback later -fun party light -bluetooth connectivity (haven’t tried this feature) -scratch wheel has a heavy weight similar to a real one -headphone jack -batteries or plug in Cons: -Turns itself off really fast if you’re not pressing buttons (6 measures only), so you can’t just sit on a beat and listen to it for very long -No manual mode where you can press the buttons and make one sound to create your own beat. -The academy mode is kind of hard for younger kids Overall, this DJ set far exceeded my expectations for a kid’s toy and we’re really happy with it.Read more

So far this has been the big exciting Christmas gift that’s been played with more than anything else by our 9 year old—his 6 yo and toddler siblings are enthralled by it as well. It’s so fun with the flashing disco light option and there are so many different beats and sounds that you can create so many unique songs, and it’s very musically educational! You can even record several of your own sounds to mix into your song. You can also record the song you create so you can play back your creation for others to hear.
