I bought a two pack of these water filters when our fridge filter needed replaced and boy am I glad I did. I priced out the GE recommended filters and figured there had to be something better. Two of these filters was less than half the price of one name brand filter, and these filters are great. We noticed no difference in the taste of our drinking water with this vs the name brand. The water flow is normal using these filters and they were easy to install. I will definitely buy again.Read more

I cut open the filter that came with our GE fridge and one from waterspecialist (after use) the attached pic shows the difference between the two, the GE filter is on the left and the Waterspecialist filter is on the right, the GE filter has a tube of filter material, the Waterspecialist filter has a filter material housing inside, both filtered our water very well. The waterspecialist filter was about $7.00 when we bought it in 12/18 and is now about $9.00 and is a much better value than the GE filter and has the same results as the GE Filter, I would purchase again.Read more

I’m still not convinced that filtering the fridge’s dispenser water even does anything, but my fridge “requires” a filter for the dispenser, otherwise, an annoying red light comes on and stays on. This fit perfectly fine, although I didn’t see the alignment arrow that you get on GE branded filters… Not a big deal as you can “feel” it into place This allows you to turn off the red light by pressing the button and holding it for 3 seconds.. The fridge “knows” there’s a filter by a simple pressure switch (i think) so there’s none of that bar=code or embedded chip nonsense like in the new K coffee makers. ALSO-These USED to be around $25 EACH at HD, but they HDX ones are now $35 EACH! So you get TWO for half the price of ONE at HD..As well as other places…You really DO NOT need the GE branded one..You are just paying extra for the name…Same with the “HDX” branded one at HD. Please read the reviews about this product. On the outside it appears the same as the original water filter for my GE SERIES. I installed it and tried to get water. When I did I heard a bang inside the fridge. The pressure of it not being the correct filter had cause it to blow of the holder. It cracked part of it. Pay the extra money for the original.Read more

Super easy to install . Quick delivery I do taste a difference in in the water compared to the official MWF filter. Your filter states that it removes chlorine taste..but does not state that it removes other elements like the GE filter says it removes. Our city may have recently added more chlorine to the water… so I will give it some time.Read more

On month 3 , we will see if it last 6 months before the light to change filter goes on as the GE filter did. much better price than the GE.
