Awesome product! I had an unfortunate accident where a guest knocked over a glass of port wine from an end table which splashed on white window shades, white window sills, while base boards, taupe-colored painted walls and white with dark beige carpeting. I left it that way for a few days in order to research the best way to hopefully clean it up without negative results. Many “googled” sources recommended mixtures with bleach and some recommended “oxy” cleaners. Well, we all know the negative possibilities of bleach use, in addition, as a property manager I’ve had tenants use oxy-carpet cleaners with actually lifted the carpet’s color to the point the carpet had to be replaced. I eventually landed on a source in the UK which spoke specifically about Wine Away Red Wine Stain Remover. I thought, I wonder if I can find that product in the US. So . . . as many of us do, I thought if I can find it anywhere mostly likely I’ll find it on Amazon. And yep here it was. I used it today, after days of doing nothing, mostly because I was afraid to make it worse. Lo and behold! I completely cleaned the window sills, the window shades, the baseboards, the walls and the carpeting! You cannot even tell it happened. No stains or color change to the carpet or the walls or the white painted surfaces. Before you try or use anything, buy this. It cannot be beat! I was afraid I might have to hire a professional to clean the carpet and that I might have to completely repaint walls, but no. I cannot recommend this product more highly! You will not be disappointed, I guarantee it.Read more

Dont know how well it works for red wine since I’ve never used it for that, HOWEVER it is absolutely the best thing out there for dried blood. My husband has thin sun-damaged skin and small skin tears leave blood spots on the sheets and pillowcases. By the time we strip the bed for laundry, they are dried. Used to soak the spots in cold water for hours to try to get them out, but mow I just stray this on any spot and watch as it bubbles and fades within 5 minutes. Put a little OxyClean or liquid laundry detergent on top and put into the washer. GONE. Over the years it has been harder an harder to find in the grocery store, so now I just order it from Amazon!Read more

I spilled a full glass of red wine on my beige carpet, and blotted it up immediately using several paper towels. I googled the best way to remove the stain, and this product was named. I had a very small bottle of it which only had enough for a few applications, so I used it all up. It seemed to get most of it out, but not all… so I then used a combination of liquid dish detergent and white vinegar mixed with water. Seemed to help but the next day I saw a purplish stain and had to leave that morning to go on vacation for a week! I used straight white vinegar and hoped for the best. When I returned a week later, it looked worse than ever so ordered a new bottle of the Wine Away from Amazon and got it immediately. I applied this at least 5 different times not expecting much but it all came out! There was a little bit of a stain left the next day, so I did a few more applications the next morning. It all came out and you’d never know the stain was there! I think this is amazing since it sat for an entire week with the dried purplish stain which I thought would take a miracle to remove. I highly recommend this product.Read more

Totally impressed! The unassuming generic packaging and label left me a bit skeptical but this stuff is almost as exciting as the wine I spilled! This Cabernet stain sat on my ivory faux fur blanket for over a month before I tried this product. Completely gone in one try! Get this. Seriously. You won’t be disappointed.Read more

When you have anything white in your house and you have a love for red wine THIS PRODUCT IS A MUST!!! We had a dinner party of about 15 people in our house so I bought 5 bottles just in case. We didnt need the 5 bottles, but someone did spill red wine on our brand new white couch. I was so mad, but I used this stuff and it was GONE. Not just took most of the red wine out- the red wine was GONE! No trace of it at all! I will buy more!Read more

This stuff might be actually magic. It got a 3 year old wine stain from a white carpet that I have used literally every product ever trying to remove. Folex, resolve, rug doctor, etc. Nothing worked, and I just ended up with an ugly brown stain. This stuff also has worked on every other hard to remove stain I have tried to on. Works great on red makeup stains and that high pigment hot pink eye shadow I dropped on the white carpet that I thought would never come out.Read more

This review is for a somewhat different use than most of the reviews. We are on well water and our well has tannins in it (as does red wine). Despite a new water softener & filtration system, some tannins still get through. The cleaner i used for years to remove the tannins was reformulated to meet EPA guidelines & no longer works. I have been trying all sorts of cleaners & tools to remove the unsightliness to no avail. I was somewhat impressed with Wine Away! I sprayed the area heavily, let it sit 10 minutes & then sprayed it again & scrubbed with a very stiff scrub brush and a sponge/scrubber combo. As you can see in the pics, it did a decent job after just one application! The ingredients are just water, orange peel extract & borax so I didn’t hold out a lot of hope but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I have asthma & oftentimes end up having an asthma attack from cleaning solutions but that wasn’t the case with this. It just has a pleasant, albeit fairly strong, smell of oranges. Overall, I feel it was definitely worth the money and I’m hopeful that with repeated use, it will remove more of the built-up tannins!Read more

The stain remover worked very well in removing marinara sauce and olive oil stains from clothing. I was less impressed with how it worked on pet stains. Applied and blotted the product as directed on pet urine stains and while it removed some of the stains, it left part of the stains behind. Applied, brushed, waited 10 minutes and blotted the same areas again and a little more of the stain was removed but the end result was no better than other stain removers we previously tried. This remover does smell better than others with a strong orange odor that quickly fades.Read more

I spilt some red wine on bedding. The items that were soaked in strong Ariel washed perfectly. The one thing that could not be washed was treated with this product many times. Gradually the mark appeared to fade but come up blue again and had a strange botanical smell if it got damp. I have now taken it to the local laundry/dry cleaners. This product had little effect; the cleaning bill will be not much more.Read more

I bought this as a last resort. I spilled red wine on a shirt a couple of years ago and held onto it hoping it would face in the sun etc. Dry cleaning wouldn’t get it out or anything else. I tried this stuff as a last resort and it’s incredible. Blends right back in to the white which is astounding. Then tried on some sweat stains on some cushions and they came out as well. Can’t get over how good this stuff is, it’s like magic spray if all other options fail. Can’t recommend enoughRead more

I originally bought this a couple years ago to use on a red wine stain on a white cotton shirt & sea grass rug (The product is for carpets & fabrics though, but wanted to give something a try on the rug) Stain came out of the shirt well (used a couple of weeks after the accident) good enough to wear the again, but still seen faintly – I was impressed though. On the sea grass rug, it came out of the green fabric trim around the rug, but on the sea grass itself, it just faded the stain, but overall was still visible. Had reason to use it again this week, when a large glass of red wine was spilled in my living room, over a number of surfaces: Grey fabric sofa – perfectly removed the stain. Cream and multicoloured wool rug – stain perfectly removed from some of the cream areas, another application was needed for others (think this is just me missing spots) I also used it on my painted wall & wooden chalk painted table that were victims of the wine (just out of interest) there no effect, repainting needed! 5 stars mainly given for the superb sofa & rug result & would probably give 4 stars for the shirt. Shirt could be replaced much easier than the sofa a rug though! Also, I really like the smell, very fruity! *update* Having recently taken delivery of a second bottle, I needed it on the day it arrived (today) for when my husband bit into a juicy blackberry he was picking and it squirted over a favourite white t shirt – came out almost 100% (still being treated, spray alone) he can’t see it, but I can in a certain light, but def so he can wear it again….and hopefully after washing, it’ll be completely gone!Read more

This is a fairly remarkable product. I spilt a glass of red wine last night on my white carpet and did what I could with water and a clean cloth to little effect. I ordered this product and had to wait a day for delivery. I wouldn’t say that the stain has been completely eradicated but I do think you’d have to look very closely with the specific aim of finding a wine stain before you would realise anything had been amiss. Not sure why there are such mixed reviews for the product here but I am astonished at how well it has worked for me (oh, and it smells pleasantly citric too!)Read more

Someone spilt a whole glass of red wine over my nee cream chair …… removed the cover and used this before putting the cover through a normal wash cycle …… (a few weeks later). …… and the stain completely vanished. Great for other stuff too – berry juice etc. Prefer to always have a bottle of in the cupboard.Read more
