I bought this for photographing Hemp flower. It does a spectacular job. It was extremely easy to hook up to my phone via Wifi. I had a lot of fun seeing all the details with the flower magnified to that degree. I hope to catalog the various strains I come across and review. This is perfect since I can finally get a highly detailed photograph. The item itself is very sturdy and I appreciate the matte satin finish to the microscope.Read more

I really wanted to like this, but it was unclear from the description that this microscope creates its own wifi network and you must connect to it in order to use it on your device. This does NOT connect via usb. I bought 6 of these for use in a classroom, but my student devices can’t access the required network. I was able to get it work on my device which is not under school control. Seriously disappointed. The picture is not great, but would have been usable. Back on the wifi (I know, beating a dead horse). You need to install an app on your device (Max-See). Then you need to connect to the microscope device’s unsecured wifi network to view images. I can’t believe this is the most efficient way to do this… If this connected via usb, I would give it a solid 4 stars for low price and functionality. It isn’t amazing, but not bad. The process though, is a deal breaker. Find a true USB microscope and you’ll be much happier.Read more

So this was surprising easy to use. I have a endoscopic wifi cam, but it it so hard to hook up to my phone. This connected with the first try. I’m impressed. Picture quality and zoom was good as u cN see in the pics of my eyelashes and some trichrome dew drops. For a cheep Chinese gadget I’d buy another.Read more

Bought it for a specific task I needed to do. After my task was finished I let the grandkids play with it, looking at small cuts and abrasions on themselves. Even looking under their fingernails. They now thoroughly wash and clean themselves better. What they saw Under the microscope was gross…. one child quit biting his nails it was that nasty looking under your nails with that much magnification.Read more

Granted, it’s not going to be like a several thousand dollar 1000X microscope, as this one costs about $40, but it’s definitely worth the money and the things you can see are quite incredible. This is a piece of amber that I used to test this device out with (the piece if about 1/2″). First picture is side-lit and second is back-lit.Read more

The media could not be loaded. Great product with lots of versatility! Much easier to use for trichome inspection then a jewellers loupe. Crisp clear pics and easy to connect with.Read more

This digital microscope works better than expected. Overall it is quite easy to use: install app on phone, turn microscope on, associate phone with microscope wifi, then use app. We found that fiddling with it resulted in much better results than the base instructions. Some hints based on our use of the microscope: 1- make sure to remove the cover. It will interfere with viewing quality to a greater extent than anticipated. 2- the microscope must make as close a contact to the item being observed as possible for greatest magnification 3- the focus appears to have two levels. If you go beyond the first focus it seems to have a second focus that occurs at higher magnification. Be sure to play with the focus beyond where it seems to focus first. 4- there is a + and – button on the side. This appears to increase magnification when set higher. Maximum settings seems to be 2. All that said I am skeptical it achieves anywhere near the claimed 1000x magnification. My opinion is that it is considerably less than that. You cannot see individual cells on an average plant leaf for example. However, you can see details much greater than you can with an excellent magnifying glass. If I had to make a guess it is that the magnification of this digital microscope is on the order of 100x, but that is just a guess.Read more

Ever since I started playing with Arduino components I always was annoyed by the fact that some are too small to see and always tried to squint away at SMD parts to figure out what they are. Always wanted to buy a microscope to use for this purpose and for soldering but didn’t want to spend a large amount of money on one and the thought of carrying a wire with it as well didn’t sit well with me. After putting off the thought of buying one for a long time, I thought I’d search again. And so, I found this neat little device. First of all, this comes in a simple box which contains the microscope, two stands, a micro-USB cable and some booklets. All you need to quickly start up with the device. It’s obviously a generic device rebranded by the seller, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the images. This can definitely go quite close and it can be seen in the photos I’ve uploaded. This works with both cable and over WiFi. I have tried this on a few Android devices (Pixel 2XL and Galaxy S8 Plus) and on my computer. The app for Android devices is called Max-see and it’s fairly simple to use. After installing the app on your phone, turn on the microscope and go back to your Android device and search for a WiFi hotspot called Max-see_#####. Connect to this hotspot and then go into the Max-see app and it should all work just fine. By default, the resolution is set to 640×480 I think, so change that to the Full Resolution. I have attached some photos of the device and things under the lens (square pixels are of my full HD monitor, round pixels are of my Pixel 2XL screen, beard hair, SMD components and some 3D printed layers ranging from 0.2mm to 0.07mm). Pros + Device is cheap, lightweight, and can be easily carried around. + Built-in light with brightness control + Built-in battery that lasts a few hours + Good magnification + Works both wired and wireless Cons – The stand could be better. As it is at the moment it’s too short to use for soldering and you can’t get a good vertical position on it. – Light could be a bit more powerful. – For maximum magnification, you have to be so close that the microscope touches the surface you’re looking at.Read more

I’ve had a couple of these cheap handheld microscopes. This one gives a considerably better image than the earlier ones. Neither of the earlier ones could use your phone as the display – the ability to slip it into your pocket and look at flora & fauna when out for a walk is great. The provided stand is very poor. It’s okay for very low magnification, but the stand is so flimsy that at higher magnification one cant adjust the focus without altering the scope focal point. Not an issue for me as I can use one of the stands I already had, but I’d have returned it otherwise.Read more

It’s a nice looking light and comfortable to hold torch, but not a microscope. The App to use it wirelessly can not connect to it, and when the device is connected to MacBook by a cable it is supposed to work with PhotoBooth but it does not do that either. The built in lights can be easily dimmed, but at their brightest are not as bright as the torch on my iPhone, and as torch is this “microscope’s” only function, it’s extremely expensive for such a poor torch.Read more
