Wider than regular yoga mat on Amazon, dense and reliable. Non-slip even on carpet floor. Great choice for plank.Read more

I use this primarily for hot yoga, and have been using it through yoga teacher training. My 3 biggest complaints are 1) My hands tend to slip on this mat every once in a while, 2) it ripples underneath me in certain poses like half-pigeon, and 3) it tends to slide on the floor when changing from pose to pose at times. Overall, this is a decent mat for the price. I like the alignment markers, and how lightweight it is for carrying. The minor annoyances mentioned above are mostly due to my irritation that the mat I used prior to this one is no longer sold and this is the one I’ve “settled” for that was within my budget. I have heard of better mats out there, but I prefer a wider mat and this was the widest I could find.Read more

I have been doing yoga & hot yoga for about 5 years now. When I started I bought a cheap thick squishy mat because my knees would get sore if I was kneeling on them for too long. I got that mat off of Amazon too and it actually worked pretty well for the first couple years of my yoga journey (perfect for yin). However, when I started progressing in yoga to hot yoga, vinyasa & exploring inversions and arm balances it wasn’t grippy enough for me. It bunched & moved. So, I bought another like $30 yoga mat off of Amazon – trying to find something that was more non-slip. I ended up getting “IUGA Eco Friendly Yoga Mat with Alignment Lines, Free Carry Strap, Non Slip TPE Yoga Mat for All Types of Yoga, Extra Large Exercise and Fitness Mat Size 72”X26”X1/4″”. It was okay, but it still bunched & moved around in certain poses. Then I did some research and I guess the PU Rubber mats are the best for nonslip and for grip. However, most of the ones I found were $50-$100 dollars. I was eyeing the purple lotus one of these because it was the cheapest I could find at $49.95. However, one day this purple butterfly one went on sale for $25! I couldn’t believe it! So, I got it immediately! And I LOVE IT! It is super grippy, it doesn’t move, it stays in place, it doesn’t bunch! It is durable and more hefty than my other yoga mats. Plus, it came with a strap and a bag! My hot yoga towels (which don’t have the little grips on them) stay on the mat pretty well too – better than my old mat. I haven’t tested it yet in a hot yoga studio yet because they’ve been closed, but I will update when I do. But, it works great on our hardwood floors and for an at home practice for now. The only slight negative, is it doesn’t have as much cushion as my last two mats, but I will take the grip & hold over the cushion. I love this mat!Read more

I bought this to help me stop slipping and to check on my alignment bc I’m new to yoga. It helps with both of those issues, although I have found that it gets a little slippery from hand sweat—and I don’t sweat a lot. Also, it is quite heavy and difficult to roll up. That does prevent it from moving around on the carpet though. I’ve had it for over two weeks now and it still has that rubber smell to it.Read more

I sent this back right away. It wasn’t heavy enough and kept moving and pushing into little hills that drove me crazy. The grip wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good, either. I have a heavy natural rubber mat that is perfect.Read more

Really high quality, surpassed my expectations. It’s hefty so it lays flat without curling up. The guides are nice as well for getting your poses properly aligned. It’s got enough cushion for me, but if you are prone to knee pain you may want to go with the very thick mats. I love the size of it as well, I don’t feel like I’m running out of space during poses. Highly recommend for a good sturdy do it all mat! Grip, comfort, quality and style. My only complaint that has nothing to do with the product is the packaging was overkill and a bit wasteful. It’s a pet peeve of mine but the product is solid and worth the buy.Read more

I know a lot of people have been complaining about the sweat marks for this type of yoga mat, but I have to say I absolutely love mine! I have not noticed any wearing on it or staining, however, I have a gym weight mat I do my workouts on and I strictly use my yoga mat for yoga only, so maybe that makes a difference. I’m not sure these mats were built to withstand heavy exercises as the material is most definitely for yoga. I love it bc it’s thick enough to lay on carpet to create a flat surface for yoga and the grip is the best grip I’ve come across so far. Taking care of it as directed and rolling it with pretty face facing outward and haven’t had any problems so far! Owned for about 6mos.Read more
