So I bought these to tamp down an area rug to my hardwood floors. They did not come with instructions, but after some trial and error I realized that they work if you stick the gripper side onto the RUG first and leave the plastic on other side. Walk over it a few times and a few hours later, peel off the side that is to attach to the floor. I discovered when I removed the backing from both sides without giving it time to adhere to the back of the rug that it just came off the rug and stuck to the floor instead. My elderly mother really wanted an accent rug in her new down-sized apartment, but we all know the tripping dangers of throw rugs. I had purchased some highly-touted rug tape that just didn’t do the job. Before we gave up, I went searching for more options and decided to give these rug grippers a try. I installed them so that the edges of Mom’s round rug hugged the wood laminate floor, leaving no gaps. We have been very pleased with the results. The rug does not move at all and the edges stay firmly in place. Perhaps I should have held off on giving 5 stars until we see if the claim of leaving no residue pans out. (I will admit that I’m puzzled about the intended use of the round gel grips. If anyone has used those, I’d like to hear about it.)Read more

Only had them a few days, but very easy to use. I have them on a small rug used in front of a doggy door. They stay in place just fine. I also have a robotic vacuum and these grippers keep the rug in place for the unit to vacuum over it. Would buy again.Read more

These rug grippers work, they really do, but here’s the HUGE lie they’re telling. YES, you CAN rinse and restick these grippers. What you CAN’T do, is EVER take them off your rug. Like EVER. If you want to put them on a new rug, FORGET IT. If you want to wash your rug, FORGET IT. Any attempt at removing these rug grippers from the carpet or rug will ruin them for any further use. If you have a pile style rug that you steam clean instead of a soft rug you throw in the wash, these would be perfect. They were a total waste of money for my use.Read more

I’ve tried several different types of anti-slip rug mats in the past. Nothing else was able to keep the rug in my kitchen from sliding around (aside from strong double-sided tape, which I don’t want to use on my hardwood floors). I’ve had these down only for 3 days now, but I was constantly adjusting the rug multiple times a day in the past, and now it hasn’t budged! This is a great product!Read more

These do really work, and washing the side that touches the floor does bring back the adhesion. Unfortunately, in the event the side that touches the underside of the carpet becomes fouled with dirt or lint, there is no fixing that. I have two large great danes. When they play on the rug, they dislodge it. I imagine that for anyone who is not a great dane owner (or other large breed) anchoring an area rug would be one and done. I recommend these highly. No more tape. Tape doesn’t work very well and can damage certain floors when you attempt to remove it.Read more

These were very easy to install and stick very well to the carpet. I had to do a readjustment to the position a few minutes after we put them down. They were already stuck pretty good to my luxury vinyl laminate flooring. The adhesion to the carpet started to pull away as I started to lift from floor. But it easily went back on, the floor was clean with no sticky residue. I will reserve judgement for a few weeks on how well the adhesion stays. But so far, so good!Read more

Overall a disappointment. On the plus side the gripper does stick to a vinyl floor. Unfortunately the side that is supposed to stick to the bottom of a carpet only works if the carpet has a rubberized backing. The gripper side for the carpet does not stick well to a fiber or jute type backing. You can turn a rug upside down to attach the grippers and press down firmly for 20 to 30 seconds. They seem like they are stuck. Turn the rug over to place on the floor and the grippers will easily fall off the carpet before you can get it on the floor. If you get lucky and the grippers do stay attached, when you lift the carpet edge to peel off the plastic sheet to expose the side the adhesive side for the floor; peeling off the sheet pulls off the gripper from the carpet. The coated paper sheet covering the carpet side of the grippers is also a problem. I purchased 2 boxes, 4 grippers per box. For one box only one sheet peeled off properly the other 3 could only be removed by pulling and stretching the grippers like a rubber band. For the 2nd box 2 of the 4 sheets peeled off correctly. Fortunately the stretched grippers did return to normal size and shape. Basically I could not use the grippers on the 2′ by 5-6′ long heavier rugs I had. I kept them and used them on 2 smaller bathroom rugs with sticky rubber backing as extra protection. Won’t buy these grippers again. Hoping to find something better that will stick to standard carpet backing fiber construction.Read more
